First off, what the hell is a sonric?  I have been reading these forums and I am trying to get an idea on a few things so I can better understand my collection. 

 

I saw a few people talking about cereal monsters and special edition monsters from matchbox and the uk but how do you tell? I saw that most of them are series 1 but thats as far as I can tell. I guess I am just trying to find a site that actually tells you what color is what. I saw monstercollecting.com, which is great but it doesnt name the specifics.

Sonrics is the name of the candy maker that made Mexican MIMP. 

 

Series 1 promos are based primarily on color, which is why Monstercollecting has the specific page that shows all the promos. There is a thread on here that lists where all the promos came from, but I don't know where it is.

If memory serves me correctly--those who know MIMP better than I will surely correct me if I'm wrong--all the Series 3 figures were promo releases. That's likely why Series 3 figures tend to be the most elusive, and command some steep prices.

Ah o.k. That clears a few things up for me. What was the Peru name? I want to make sure I can ebay these correctly lol

All the series 3 were promos, yes. And the Peru don't have a special name per se, except that there were 2 series and the second one is the Halloween Juguete series. But everybody just calls them Peru as far as I have seen.

Ah o.k. I assume that Argentina was the same then. I was just making sure because they toy brands that I have dealt with usually use the same toy makers in those countries (like Plastirama or Estrela).

Cromy made the Argentina ones, I believe. And they made a separate line that was called Monster in My Pocket that was released through the Cromy Club.

Interesting. What was so different from their club line? Was it the same molds or just a branch off series?

Hahahaha those look like crap but I feel the urge to own them lol I think I need to ebay this name now. Bad enough you guys pretty much convinced me to spend $100 to get my first mimps in years but this must be owned lol along with that gitd ghost

The condition of the figures sucks, but I like them. Really random and strange.

Yeah. I want those too. I think since they seem pretty common, it should be possible to get a full set easily.

I have one of each guy, just finished my set recently. Now I am looking to get each color for each monster.

If I get any specific colors, I will let you know I'm trying to go for a full set too but when I get my first few batches in, there is bound to be doubles

Let me know if anyone ends up with a double of that guy with the giant boar head. Not crazy about the majority of the other Cromy sculpts but I like him

Had I known that, I would have included one in the trade we just made. Maybe we can do another one later.

In the last pic posted in this thread, there are two of him. He's the yellow one at the bottom right, just to the left of the 2-headed ogre dude.

No worries I'm sure we can work out another trade sometime in the future. I'll keep my eye out for Behemoths
