Saw this on Instagram, this was at Toys R Us. Personally I'm stoked. Same mold and Production line! I only saw this one post but I hope it is happening. It'll make getting a full set of the sidekicks allot easier and hopefully nicer on the ole pocket book!

They've been doing the classic rereleases for a while, but super Donnie I wasn't aware of. Believe he's the only rerelease (so far) that includes a companion figure. I'm not sure how they're picking which figures to reproduce, theyve been doing a few new ones a year.

Edit: Super Mikey is the third figure, which comes with a companion I don't have yet! (still might get the donnie if I see him, to get the tadpole dude in a different color)

anybody see mini tmnt figures (about 2.5-3" and 5 points of articulation)? They look just like the 80's original line, but small. They have them at my local dollar general at 5 bucks for 2 figures...was gonna grab some eventually if theyre still there...they only had like 2 two packs last time!

Yeah, they have had them in the dollar stores here for quite a while.
Besides the four turtles, I have seen Splinter, Casey Jones, Shredder, and a Foot soldier available in these packs. These four don't look exactly like the original figs, like the turtles do. They are in the same packaging, though.

I knew they were doing the remakes but up until now none were compaion sidekick guys. Good to know on the mikey. 2 guys is better than one. I don't know how they decide either but the sewer hero guys usually are $10 a mini anyhow so at least I get a complete guy this way

I wonder if there is a way to determine the originals from the re-issues?  Surely the date is different?

(otherwise I would be worried about secondary market getting burned by picking up re-issues "claiming to be original).

Maybe like the MOTU remakes they will have a lip around the feet or something weird like that

yeah date probably, and with these likely some paint differences. I know one of the things people were upset about was Bebop missing so many paint apps in this re-release.

Thing with TMNT figures is that most have already been re-issued multiple times with different cardbacks already. Always wondered if getting a re-release was as much of a concern with TMNT collectors (assuming all the paint apps are there, of course)

They should really consider doing scratch and all the later figures that were limited release. Though that might burn some collectors that dropped the dough on these guys already.

Something tells me that Playmates isn't too worried about burning people who spent a fortune on toys.

Think of the money they'd be rolling in from all the people who wouldn't/couldn't fork out the cash for the harder to find stuff before.
