As I said, I bought stuff today. Most of it was clothes-related, but obviously I stopped by the toy department while I was at it. I'm such a little stinker, ain't I?
Wild Bill is the G.I. Joes' all-purpose vehicle driver and token cowboy. Although the exact specifics of his look vary from figure to figure (Sometimes he's bald, sometimes he's middle-aged, sometimes he resembles a country singer), the basic fact remains that he's a cowboy who likes to drive things. Probably drunk. But hey, he's fun.
Coil Crusher is one of the newly-venomized troops. Unlike most of them, he's not a typical soldier with random DNA - Crusher has some snake DNA in him, but he is a very capable individual besides that. To start with, he's huge and bears more than a passing resemblance to Vin Diesel. Coil Crusher is one of the biggest, toughest Cobra troops to ever climb out of the Terror Drome, and I can already envision him uttering Golobulus' famous line from the movie, "The last thing you hear will be the cracking of your vertebrae, one by one!"

Sculpt:

Wild Bill: Wild Bill does not look like a soldier or a superhero - he looks like a normal, modern cowboy. This is a great, refreshing change from the usual Joe uniform. Bill resembles a more or less ordinary Texan, and that's a very good thing - I think I've met people like him. Although his current incarnation eschews his almost-trademark sunglasses, they gave him a much better beard and finally chose to let the guy have a full head of hair. His clothing is realistic and cool, ans even though I'm not a cpwboy fan, I like the guy.

Coil Crusher: Coil Crusher is HUGE. I wasn't expecting to like the guy because of his weird arm articulation, but he ended up being one of the better villains in the line. This guy is a major Joe villain, and it shows - he doesn't seem like the type to arm himself with too many weapons, since he's probably more or less bulletproof. He seems to be a mixture between Nemesis Enforcer and Vin Diesel. I like the guy - he seems tough enough to be bulletproof, and after owning this figure it's hard to care much about the arm articulation.

Paint Job:

Wild Bill: Bill is painted in ordinary, nonextravagant colors that again serve to make him more realistic. As a result, he's actually one of the better Joe figures.

Coil Crusher: Coil Crusher's paint job is outstanding, from the dark greens and reds of his uniform to his pale skin tone. The tattoo on the back of his head is extremely nice, and adds a huge amount of personality to the figure. Again, I really like the guy.

Articulation:

Both figures have normal Joe articulation, except for Coil Crusher. Crusher has normal swivel-joints at the shoulders, and his arms are supposedly bendable. Of course, they don't bend well, and can only assume two real positions - straight, bending inward (good for crushing another Joe), and bent back so it looks like he has a broken arm. The positive side of this is that the texture is pretty good, and Coil Crusher's arm articulation actually makes it easier for him to bear hug another figure than normal elbow articulation would, which actually makes it useful. Believe it or not, it's possible to overlook the flaws in favor of the good side.

Accessories:

Wild Bill: Aside from the sniper rifle and annoying wrist communicator, Wild Bill has two excellent six-shooters (That fit into his holsters) and an awesome cowboy hat. The hat is great, and fits almost any figure. You won't believe how goofy it makes Serpentor look.

Coil Crusher: Coil Crusher comes with a gun that he'll never use (that whole "bear hands" thing), and a bendable snake. The snake bends really well and looks good, and I like to wrap it around Crusher's torso and rest its head on his shoulder. It can also be straightened out into a good Serpentor weapon, so the snake is actually pretty awesome.

Pricing: At $4.99, this is a great find.

GOtGM (1-10): 3. Nothing offensive.

Overall: 4.7 out of 5. I really found some good sets today, and in spite of the minor flaw with Coil Crusher's arm articulation, both figures are actually really great.
