So I'm on this mono dinosaur kick at the moment and just stumbled into a gaggle of these prehistoric keshi for cheap. Does anyone know when and how these were released?

The kanji on their bellies tells me they're Japanese in origin but I've not seen them before. I also looked around on the board and didn't find any mentions of them. They appear to come in blue, green, red, and pink. The sculpt style is reminiscent of some kaiju keshi I've seen before. As always any info is much appreciated

I've seen some of these i around in random junk bins here and there, but not in those colors; the ones I saw did not have japanese on the bottom. I figure maybe a mass mold a few companies are using?

there are a bunch of dinosaur Keshi lines I've seen on Yahoo auctions, of all sizes.

I just searched and found these auctions of the same set

Yeah those are them, and interesting that those are all different colors than the ones I found. I wonder if these were in fact booted and imported. I picked up about 60 in these colors and the seller is domestic. No ankylosaurus in my lot though.

Most likely just imported they don't, many keshi lines back then came in different colors with different releases.

haha no worries, it's not that uncommon to see the term applied to figures that aren't exactly eraser material. For example, the first wave (or two?) of Super Mario keshi were eraser material, while the later releases were made of a firmer rubber, and they're still referred to as "keshi" :)
