New to the forum!

Just recently stumbled across a huge lot of M.U.S.C.L.E.s in a collectables store, 190 for $1 a piece. Which, maybe not a SUPER deal, but was about what I was willing to pay it to get a good starter collection.

Anyhow, I'm now trying to fill in the gaps and spending time on eBay (too much time), trying to get decent lots that will fill a lot of my gaps.

Came across this one today and pulled the trigger without thinking, since it looks like there may be a Super Rare Chainman in the mix. Of course, I'm now filled with all sorts of doubt and thinking it could be a bootleg. Even so, managed to get some other needed figs in the set, so it's not a total loss.

Anyone have any opinions on the authenticity? Looking at it with a clearer mind, I'm not feeling a little suspicious.

Will let you know as soon as it arrives. Just picked up the lot earlier today. Coming from within Canada, so should hopefully be here quickly.

I assume it's Kinnikuman (the line that MUSCLE was based on), and not MUSCLE.  That figure didn't actually appear in the MATTEL MUSCLE 236.

It's a super cool fig though.

Lighter color points to kinkeshi, but you might get lucky.

I saw that too. It does not look like the other m.u.s.c.l.e. figures; it's lighter color points to kinkeshi. My first reaction was that the seller placed him right in the middle of the lot to make a sale. Sounds cynical but it's what I think.

You guys are probably right. The lot had 16 figs that I was missing, so figured that at the very least I would fill some gaps while taking a small risk.

Judging from the amount of other non muscle figures in the lot I would say your odds of it being a super rare are fairly slim. There is at least one kinkeshi/bootleg fig in almost every row of that picture.

Those injection mold points seem a bit deep for muscle as well, you will know by the feel when it gets there, good luck!

Showed up today and was def a softer rubber. Turned out that far more were bootlegs than I thought -- thankfully only one or two of my needed figs though.

My first eBay M.U.S.C.L.E. purchase and a lesson learned!
