Been rebuilding my collection and I have noticed that King Cobra is really hard to find. Any particular reason?

Popularity, I presume. Lot of people love that mold for one reason or another.

Understandable, but while there are dozens of each of the other Beasts available, I have literally spotted 3 in the last three weeks online, and two of those are missing limbs.

^This, also the the rare exclusive mail-away variant of Stone Cobra with it's Stone Tablet prop added to the popularity of this mold.

King Cobra is from Series 3 of the line, so it's not quite as common as popular Series 1 figures. And there are army builders that covet the heck out of their favorite beasts, with many owning dozens. It really isn't hard with the overall popularity of the mold to reduce its online availability when it's such a niche line. See also the same premium that MUSCLE has with the Sneagator Claw mold, even in peach flesh when it would otherwise be as common as any other poster 4-pack flesh figure.

BaltanII is right and I actually know of 2 to 3 pretty serious collectors who are, or had the idea, building an Army with King Cobra´s so this can definitely have an instant effect on the availability and the pricing of them. I´ve been cursed by some in the past building a Penguin Army and even though I didn´t buy all that showed up it did directly cause the price to go up, which also led to having to pay higher prices myself. Unlike the Penguin the Cobra is a more wanted/desired figure within the BB line to begin with so needless to say it can become quite tough to actually find one knowing there are quite a few hunting them down. BUT don´t worry they made a lot of Beasts also from Series 3 so I´m sure sooner or later you´ll find one.

Good luck with the hunt!

One year later, and King Cobra seems to be going for well over $100, now.

Not sure if they actually sell for that but the cause for the prices is still the same...

Still quite a few Cobra armies in the making among collectors.
