Okay gang, I have a challenge for you all: Sculpt a mini figure in 24 hours or less.

It's pretty simple: come up with a new concept, and sculpt it to completion in one day.

I'm posting this here, because I want to challenge the art community here, but I also want to challenge those that are on the fence about trying their hands at the craft.

I've got a free-day off on Friday, so I'll post mine Friday night.

Hey Plastic, why don't YOU get in on this? Haha, if you start right now, you could probably have one finished by the time my daughter starts college, haha

If I end up with the time, yeah! Does it have to be within a consecutive 24 hour time, or an hour here and there? Just seems like all my free time gets eaten before it has the chance to get cold lately :(

Yeah, haha, that was a jab at my good friend Plasticsoul . And Luke, it has to be started and finished on the same day, hence the challenge.

I'm going to throw this out there: It should be an original idea. Like, I can't sculpt a variation of Hell Turtle, or kitbash... The fun of the idea is that you come up with a new idea, and jam that sucker out in one day. Obviously, it's not going to be as refined as a figure you've worked on for weeks or months... But, that is what makes the exercise special, I think.

I think it's an awesome idea! Hopefully I will find a day....  hopefully. If not, I'll enjoy what everyone else comes up with!

I don't see a deadline anywhere.

I think this would be a really cool exercise, and possibly a good starting point for folks getting into the hobby.

Jesse, you would want to get a polymer based clay, like a Sculpy, Fimo, KATO Polyclay, or something of the like. You could also use plumber's putty, Apoxie, Milliput, or whatever medium your comfortable with... But the polymer clays are easiest to use. for beginners.

notice he didn't say he was going to cut the tree down- but- knock it down!  -Then carve the bear with his axe, not sculpting tools!  That is the definition of badass!

Here's what I got done today...

I definitely had to make sacrifices, as far as where I could pack in detail, on account of being so short of time, but overall, I had fun with the experience.

That first one doe, could be a UoV figure right there. Your sculpting style inspires me to one day sculpt like that and make Baki the Grappler mini-figs. Like Oliva the man who's fighting technique involves going into the fetal position as a big ball of muscle and consuming the victim like Pac-Man and spitting them out.

Here's Oliva

Actually in the comic at first glance he was mistaken as fat by a guy, until he realize it was pure muscle.
