Did you guys see the ebay auction that had over a dozen class A's in it, including a red #135? He ended it early because he was getting a lot of offers and whatnot, so I think he's eventually going to list all of them individually. Theres a couple in there I would have liked, but it seems that people are spending crazy money now on colored figs, pretty sure I won't be competitive.

Wow, no way! It looks real to me, although I’m not an expert. Hopefully it goes into good hands! Does this mean that this one has been proven legitimate to?

I don't know if you could say proven, but it all looks pretty convincing to me, he posted on the facebook m.u.s.c.l.e. group with more pictures too. I told him about LRG, but maybe he didn't think there were as many people here or something.

I’m the skeptical guy who wrote the article saying a 135R, 131R, and 040DB have never been publicly vouched for by a credible collector and I’m convinced the seller’s 135R is legit. He joined the MUSCLE FB group from a real FB profile and has been sharing pics over there and chatting with the community. I’m as skeptical as they come, and I feel comfortable accepting its a real figure.

What if there were like a class S for figures like red #131 that are so rare, they have not even been proven legitimate? Just a thought...

Have a nice day!

I left the class system alone on my checklist because there isn't enough proof if the figures were real or not. Also with the recent possibility of test color figures, and the possibility they were made in pairs. It is still possible that the 131 is a test color production and not a standard release.

Also adding another classification would only confuse people even more, Just look at ebay, people dont understand how a blue figure could be worth more than a purple. People on ebay also are using class a in there descriptions when they have no idea what it means.

Yeah, I understand why you wouldn't put classes into a checklist... it can get pretty confusing! Interesting proposition about test color figures made in pairs.. what examples have there been? I haven't seen much on the subject matter...

Anyway, thanks and have a nice day!

One of the things that got the whole Class system going was the MUSCLE tree theory. One of the members here had gotten hold of an uncut injection tree from Kinnikuman Part 25. Each figure in that mold was duplicated on the sprue. So basically, you had each figure in pairs in one injection shot.

Thanks for dropping that link. I’ve always been curious about what the sprues look like and how many figures were in them. A very helpful piece of information. Thanks for posting.

I’m always skeptical of that poster’s motivations in sharing information, but it does make sense they could have looked this way. Interestingly enough, I should be able to test this configuration against some of the new tree theory I’ve been working on. I really appreciate you linking it. Thanks Jkaris

Heya, still lurking here from a short while ago when you guys so helpfully helped me review my meagre childhood collection (which I've now handed off to my son rather than sell, as they're worth so little).

Just a question out of curiosity: How can you tell if a figure is dyed or not without damaging it? Are you just going by the reputation and apparent sincerity of the seller? Seems a pretty flimsy basis to part with large amounts of cash on, to me.

Soak it in soapy water. If it’s dyed it’ll change the color of the water as the dye will bleed out.

The dyes also don’t look exact when you’re holding them in hand next to a real figure.

So did the seller end up listing them individually? If so I haven’t seen it yet.

He is listing them individually on ebay, so far listed green #163, light blue #060, and green #189, all with buy it now set fairly high. But the first two ended as "item no longer available" so I have no idea what someone paid for them or if he is going to relist them. He is subsky78 on ebay.

Hi guys, my name is Chris and I just joined this forum (as well as the Facebook group yesterday) as I unearthed my little collection of M.U.S.C.L.E. figures from when I was a little kid... I grew up in Vancouver, Canada... specifically Richmond (and still live there) if anyone is from around here and I bought all my figures in 4 packs or 10 pack garbage cans whenever I had enough allowance money.  I really loved playing with them and even built myself a little wrestling ring out of wood with rubber bands for the ropes.

Anyway, fast forward to more recent times and I was at a toy store and noticed some Masters of the Universe M.U.S.C.L.E. figures in that store and thought wow wouldn't that be great if those made a comeback??  My figures have been in storage for decades now and I grabbed the bag the other day at my parents house and started to go through them and being a current model car and Transformers and sometimes Funko collector, I had to look into what was going on with the scene here, stumbled onto the University site and then here.

Now, reading through this thread, I understand this is a heck of a first post, but in my little collection I do have one of these #131 guys in red.  I can guarantee based on me being a little kid at the time that it definitely was in circulation, I didn't trade with any friends locally at the time and got all my figures (at least to my memory) out of trash cans or 4 packs... but I've taken a bunch of photos and hope that it helps contribute to the veracity of this figure indeed being real.  I'm kind of excited to post it to verify further along with a few others that it does exist, but also nervous if some naysayers come along... but I guess that's the internet.

Anyway, I will let the photos speak for themselves.  I tried to take detail shots as well as 1 where he is with my other red ones that were in the same storage for comparison:

I don't know about you guys, but the independent confirmation of this figure's existence by complete strangers seems more legitimate to me than Alex's pics from 2009 ever could.

The two that have popped up in this thread, especially the most recent, look real to me. I think it is safe to say that this figure does exist, even if it is hard to come by.

Thanks for posting pics and sharing the back story of this figure, 68style!

Crazy to finally see this be legitimized.

If this ever goes up for sale I'd be very interested.
This is one of the last six I need to finish the set

LOL, I'm never going to own one of them, but it is cool to see enough out there to legitimize its existence.
