i have been wondering lately w/ all the revamps of old toylines coming back out and rumors of more to come, i have had a few ideas of the possibilites of new characters along w/ the old. if there was to be a revamp or simple reissues (like the g1 TF's) what would you like to see out of it?

i would love to see more water based characters, frogs, fish, sharks, whales, manta's, & finally a PIRAHNA, not the carp that i thought was a pirahna when i was a kid.

=)

I think it would be great to see Hasbro or some other company producing the line again. Personally, I think that if they did, they should just reissue on a few of the originals early on as "main characters" like Lion, Bat, Carp, etc.... but I don't think I would like it if all they did was reissue the entire original line. If they kept to a few reissues and produced new Battle Beasts, I would also like to see a lot more sea and ocean type creatures. I would really like to see a Hammerhead shark and a Whale. I love Marty's Orca, so I wouldn't mind seeing an "official" Killer Whale as well. I personally would love to see a few more different types of lizards, like maybe a Gecko, a Monitor, a Gila Monster, and several others. A Basilisk, Water Dragon and Bearded Dragon would be pretty cool as well.

Unfortunately I don't think this would ever happen. I got the Battle Beasts as a kid when I was 4, and a few of my friends got them as well so we would have battles, but I don't remember them being that popular. When I was a kid it seemed like they were here, and after just a short time in my area they were gone. So I am not sure how popular they were in order to warrant a revamp of the line. Stuff like GI Joe, TMNT and He-Man were mega-popular, so they knew that those lines would sell decently in the huge wave of 80's nostaglia.

I'd like to see more figures as well... Thank god for TGB! :D :D

I guess since were in the hypthetical realm, I think it'd be cool to see a "real" BB's comic book or cartoon series.

As far as new figures, here are the animals I'd like to see most (excluding those that customs have been made of):

Komodo Dragon (I've been buggin' Marty 'bout this one)
Dolphin
Chimpanzee
Wooly Mammoth
Thylacine (Tasmanian Tiger)

and

Any of the Birds of Prey

I would love a Komodo Dragon!!!! Infact I am all for any more lizards/reptiles. I want a dolphin too. I have gotten a dolphin that would work, and have been considering putting one together soon, but I want to see how it comes out.

I guess if Hasbro had a revamp with the series, I'd really like to see figures that looked more acurate to the animals that they were supposed to be.

As I've been noting in my "Science of The Beast" thread, many of the figures are waaaaay off from actually even looking like a real animal.

From what I've noticed, many of fans here on the board that are doing customs, seem to feel the same way and are making great efforts with their customs to make them look as real as possible.

Also, official tech cards would be nice too. I think that would have helped the line originally because that formula worked so well with GI Joe and Transformers.

In my early teens, I was into stop-motion animation, but I never incorporated BB. I've been really thinking of getting it started up again. I've even put together some simple playset out of styrofoam pieces, and want to start painting it. It looks now like a proscenium archway that I've cut doorways out of.

Are there any thoughts of the opinion that if Hasbro/Takara did indeed bring back the line that they would do it wrong?

TGB and myself were conversating about this the other day and both of us pretty much agreed that if there was a revamp in the series that it would be done all wrong. For example, look at how poorly Hasbro has been handling the Transformers' licence or even the recent flounder of Mattle's Masters of the Universe line...

Hasbro could be making a killing off of the Transformer's reissues, but have shot themselves in the foot by only producing a limited amount (only available at TRU no less), and MtoU produced waaaaaay too many versons of He-man and Skeletor and almost completely ignored their secondary characters.

I would fear that this trend would be similar for our BB's as well... :)

Hypthetically speaking of course... :D
