Hey guys, time for a quick review on some cool little chunks of rubber I picked up yesterday - Zombie Zity Bouncerz. I first read about these minis recently in a thread started by biggazhead last July. Said thread didn't get any response so I missed it originally.

The Zombie Zity franchise has it's own website: www.zombiezity.com as well as an Android app game. Alongside these, there are collectible cards, some of which feature a scratch and sniff element; larger bobble head characters and the mini Bouncerz.

The Bouncerz foil packaging seen below contains two blind-bagged figures. The average price seems to be around £1.99 per pack. It is possible to feel the contents, but I'd imagine many of the figures will feel very similar through the packaging.

Each foil pack also contains a checklist showing all 48 characters - 24 good guys and 24 bad guys - as well as some ideas for games to be played with the Bouncerz.

Now for the actual figures! They are made of a soft rubber, slightly softer than MIMP rubber, but not too soft. They sure do bounce as well! I was hoping they weren't overly 'foamy' soft, so that was a bonus. I have a picture of me squeezing a figure later in the post to give some idea of how firm they are.

The paint apps are decent, considering they a mass produced figure and they are painting a rubber that has a fair amount of give. I can image that if you played bouncing games with these then the paint apps would not have a long life. I also really like the turquoise skin tone of each zombie. The sculpts (and names) themselves are also pretty cool and have a fair amount of variety. It should also be noted that besides the regular 48 painted figures, there are also 3 chases colours available: gold, silver and GITD (as seen in my picture above). I'm unsure at the moment the ratio of chase colours, but obviously I bagged one from my first two packs. The GITD figure glows well for a rubber figure, but is not as bright as the OMFG or Glyos GITD figures I have.

In the below picture you can see me squishing Professor M. Usty. I am applying a fair amount of force and only his legs are distorting. His body and head remain pretty stable.

Finally, a size comparison between Bouncerz, MIMP and MUSCLE:

Zombie Zity Bouncerz can be picked up easily over here in the UK from such places as Tesco, Argos, Poundlound (1 figure and 6 cards), Toys R Us and plenty of other toy shops. They can also be purchased from Amazon, eBay and an official online stockist: www.zombiezityuk.co.uk

In closing, Zombie Zity Bouncerz may never be no.1 on your collection list, but I'd certainly recommend picking up a couple of packs, if only to throw them around and bounce them off the walls. It would also be interesting to see if the gold and silver chase figures are made from gold/silver rubber or if they are painted. GITD is actually GITD rubber, so I presume the same for gold/silver.

Their shade of blue reminds me of blue meanies...

Or the blue-ish gray from the original Dawn Of The Dead!

They're hard to find even here. They had some in Poundland about a year ago which sold out but for the odd straggler, even then it's still several months since I saw any. None in the local Toys R Us, and Argos don't stock them.

Give it a few months and they'll be in Home Bargains for 20p a pack. My local newsagent just got one of the free standing displays in the other month. Aside from an odd pack I picked up to check them out they don't look to be moving at all.
