Anyone else here really like the Space Aliens line or is it just me?

I noticed there didn't seem to be any threads about the series seven Space Alien figures, at least not for the first 17 pages of this board (lots of other cool threads though).

I generally prefer mono monsters, but I find the Space Aliens line really appealing anyway. Anyone else a fan of them or am I just weird?

I have a bunch of them.
I really dig a lot of the sculpts. Some of them are pretty unique, others are just so generically sci-fi that it's hard not to like them.

A lot of the MIMP love starts to fade after series 3, to be honest. (Or so this is what I've noticed.) I used to have a bunch myself as well and loved them.

For starters I don't think the US got them, so that kills the nostalgia factor. But I do have a few and think they are pretty cool. But if I had to choose a series it would be the first. The cards fed me with the monster info and I could associate more with it. I think that's why I chose Mimp over muscle. I needed my back stories to go with these cool characters. Thoigh if I didn't have back stories I still found a way to play with me in my other lines. Like RGB or science experiments from gijoe.

Yeah, there are a few of these that I like A LOT, and the ones that I don't like a lot, I still like a little. I have just never put any effort into trying to nab any, but they'd go great with a FOA collection.

Some of them are ok. Too far deviated from the originals for me; but I have held a few back that look good.

Yay! I'm not the only alien loving weirdo round here. : )

Yeah, I've noticed that they didn't seem to get a US release, which is a shame

Oh, they definitely would. I'm kind of tempted to get some of them now to go with all the MIMP aliens I plan on getting. I really shouldn't start collecting anything else though.

Unless I can pick some up cheap maybe.

Yeah,  I can understand that. They are quite different from the original series.

The Space Aliens are fantastic. I have a full set. I suspect some reasons they don't get as much love is because they're hard plastic, and somewhat larger than the original MIMP.

PS here's an earlier thread on them I started, it has pics of my collection before I got the last one I needed:

Oh nice! I didn't see that one. It's neat seeing them all (apart from one) laid out like that. I'd assumed that they'd all come in all of the colours.

I currently have one figure that I know of currently. There are boxes full of random old stuff up in the attic so there might be more of my old figures up there somewhere.

I really want to get a full set of all the sculpts. I'm less fussed about getting each colour variant as long as I've got at least one figure in each colour. I like having figures in multiple colours, but that's just a bonus for me.

That shouldn't be too difficult, right? Only fifteen more to get.

There's a few on eBay at the moment, think I saw a 12 pack in original packaging, starting bid was a fiver.

I had the full set from childhood, but sold them about 4 years ago when I started re-collecting. For me, they just couldn't compete with the look and feel of the earlier MIMP series.

Back when I started this thread there were a whole bunch of sets including some boxed ones on eBay, but I had no money. Now I've got some toy money and all I can find are individual figures. : /
