Ok guys it's been out in the US for weeks now and here in the UK for a month or a bit more less I dunno?
Anyway let's see screen shots of your Top 30 highest CP Poke's, I'm deeply intrenched I have to admit but I'm still just chipping away at level 23 nearly at 24, i have been checking thier IV's and stuff and most of my top 12 are rock solid - I can't play much more than I do with a job and family etc so here mine at present.

Mine is awful. I don't get nearly enough time to play the game.I think my highest dude is like 1013.

Haha, don't feel too bad Draznar. My highest is in the 400 range and it has been a month or so for me. Pretty sure at this point it's better to give it the boot.

I am holding off on evolving a lot of stuff like my second venusaur and a blastoise till I get stronger base Pokémon.

I'm level 20 and only have four Pokemon that are over CP1000 for some reason. I haven't been powering up though, so they could explain it. Currently at 84 seen, 84 caught. Got a bit of friendly competition going on with my wife.

It doesn't help that my city is overwhelmed with Drowzee. There's a few locations that are really awesome for Pokemon, but they're too busy to take the kids and play at the same time.

The best locations are in the Twin Cities around here. Most the outlying minor cities are pretty... pathetic? Pretty much your run-of-the-mill stuff.
