Let's discuss last night's event:

I'd like to start by saying that "CM Punk never main-evented Wrestlemania... Roman Reigns will this year."

Now what?

If Diesel was eight inches shorter, and related to the Rock.

Unfortunately, he's been anointed before learning how to work a fifteen minute singles match, or learning basic mic skills... But whatever. He seems like a nice enough dude. Maybe he'll grow into it.

It just boggles MY mind, because they have a very popular, seasoned veteran that could probably do huge numbers against Lesnar at Wrestlemania, as well as put on a buzzworthy match.

I don't get the booking on last night, at all.

Who? Ryback?
Sorry for the stupid questions, I haven't paid much attention the wrestling in a few years.

Haha, no, not Ryberg. Daniel Bryan (aka "The American Dragon" Bryan Danielson). That guy is like the best parts of Eddie Guerrero, Dean Malenko and William Regal, all rolled into one.

I think the easy summary of all this is: Vince is a senile old man.

Why did they even bother bringing Bryan back for the Rumble if he wasn't going to have a spectacular showing? As far as the fans knew, Bryan was still far off from returning from injury. They'd have been better off holding off on Bryan's return til after Rumble. His elimination set the crowd  into a rage, and then the systematic elimination of all of the fans' other favorites (Mizdow, Ziggler, Bray, Ambrose, even Rusev) felt like repeated little 'F*ck yous' from Vince. He thought the Rock appearance would help outshine the sh*tshow, but he was dead wrong. Last night #CancelWWENetwork was the number one trend on Twitter WORLDWIDE, and it remains a top trend currently. I've read dozens of cancellations on reddit. The fans are not happy.

Now a snowstorm has cancelled the live Raw, which I'm fairly certain has never happened before. Even the big guy upstairs must be pissed at the Reigns win.

Yeah, I mean, I wouldn't go so far as to demand that people cancel their subscriptions to the network over it, but at some point in time, the WWE is going to have to come to grips with the fact that they have a transcendent player, in Bryan, and start giving the fans what they want, if for no other reason just to keep the fans buying tickets/merch/subscriptions.

Wow, I've definitely been away a long time. I've never heard of or seen the guy, but apparently he's been around:

In professional wrestling, Danielson is an eight-time world champion, having held the WWE Championship/WWE World Heavyweight Championship three times, WWE's World Heavyweight Championship once, ROH World Championship once, PWG World Championship twice, and the wXw World Heavyweight Championship once. He is also a one time WWE United States Champion, a one time WWE Tag Team Champion as part of Team Hell No, and was the 2011 Money in the Bank winner. Danielson has headlined several major pay-per-view events for WWE, including WrestleMania XXX, and was awarded the 2013 Superstar of the Year Slammy Award.

When I bugged out, Batista was the champ, Carlito was doing his stupid beach house segment, Eddie was still alive and Lesnar was getting into MMA. Time flies!

I'm happy with the result. I like Reigns and Ambrose, Wyatt and the rest of the new guys they want us to buy.  Daniel Bryan?  He's alright but I'm not feeling it yet.

What irks me is everyone is mad about Daniel bryan and cries about Reigns winning but everyone Loves Lesnar?   seems hypocritical especially since LESNAR never is on TV.  He's like hogan in the 80s only SNME and PPV's

Daniel gets a pretty insane pop and is a phenomenal in ring wrestler. Meanwhile Reigns is getting booed as a face. Reigns wins the rumble without ever having a real one on one feud. It is a strange predicament WWE has booked...

Daniel Bryan Danielson is capable of bring great matches out of just about anybody. If you're not feeling it, chances are, you haven't seen his previous body of work to know what he is capable of OR you're just more into the Sid, Kevin Nash "Big Hoss" style of wrestler. For my money, I'll take guys like Guerrero, Jericho, DBD, Malenko, Pillman, even Ambrose, Rollins, and Cesaro, over guys like HHH. My favorite time watching wrestling ever, was when Paul Heyman was booking Smackdown, and we had that amazing Lesnar/Angle feud, along with the main-event surge of Eddie Guerrero. That was some of the best pure wrestling product to ever hit broadcast television.

And yeah, I'll take Lesnar defending the title four times a year, over HHH vs Batista or Orton/Cena XXXXXIX.

I love watching Lesnar. The guy is just a beast. And Paul Heyman as GM is second only to Tag Team Teddy in Smackdown history. Holla Holla Playa!

I loved Teddy Long.

And I agree with the sentiment, that Lesnar is a much better pro wrestler than he's ever been a fighter. I'd rather watch him be the dragon to slay, four times a year, than watch him fight in the UFC ever again.

I didn't particularly enjoy the Rumble this year, because I generally think there's going to be one big twist somewhere, but there really wasn't for me.  The way things seem,  I'd figure a cash-in attempt is happening at Mania.  With the chemistry of all the old Shield guys, with Seth having the briefcase to cash-in, Roman getting a lot of spotlight, and Dean being a fan-fav' loose cannon, I can understand where they might think that have something to go with moving forward with a new class of dudes.  But when the final three was essentially Kane, Big Show (past their prime and baddies) and Roman Reigns (young hot stud good guy), it wasn't hard to figure who'd they pen to face their arguably biggest baddie on their show.  And it wasn't like it don't agree with them or don't understand their move, it was just really lackluster and uncreative getting it done.

I just feel bad for the WWE faithful because you keep putting yourself through Vince's crap. I mean you even have 6 guys in your NXT program because their not ready for main roster. Not ready? These guys have wrestled for years and better then half the WWE roster. I'll always look in sporadically on WWE but never been a fan of the product, and probably never will. I'll stick to the countless other promotions out there. Hope you all force WWE to change your wrestlmania again cause man that Company is effed up.

I don't feel bad.

#1. Last night's Raw was actually pretty good. It reminded me of the AWA, NWA Crockett, and Smokey Mountain Wrestling I watched as a kid.

#2. I don't feel like I am putting myself through Vince's crap, at all. Wrestling is a long-form sequential narrative. If you don't like the story for one guy this week... Just wait. That's really all you have to do: Wait. Entitled modern wrestling fans want to see a Bray Wyatt/Dean Ambrose feud, but throw a fit when both of them don't win. It's nutty. Relax, realize you don't own the characters, and go for a ride. Expect that you're going to like some chapters better than others.

I just watch from a distance cause I just never liked the company. But I agree that fans can be fickle. I see it on the IWC all the time.

WWE has always been somewhat sporadic in quality, at least in my lifetime. I typically follow the worker, not the brand. I grew up watching Jim Crockett promotions, so that Southern style/AWA style wrestling, where the emphasis was the actual wrestling, is where my heart is. Personally, I'd much rather see Bryan/Lesnar at Wrestlemania, but we don't know that Reigns is going to be terrible, and from what we saw last night on Raw, he and Lesnar seem to have decent chemistry. Bryan would put on a better match, but I digress.

On a side note, Bullet Club debuts at ROH here in about a month.

I love ROH. They put on a great show even considering the talent drain lately.

As an aside, WWE stock went up by approximately 20%... Bet none of the Royal Rumble nerd-ragers will talk about that today.
