i've played oblivion to completion three times through. a couple of times with over 200 hours of gaming. the elder scrolls series is truly one of the top action rpgs of all time. i haven't bought skyrim yet. my miserly cheapness always wins out on videogames. i usually wait until there's complete edition with all the dlc. have to wait until february for the new vegas complete. the only game i've bought brand new in the past five years was dark souls. great game, but i'm still playing demon's souls. i could have waited.
Where are you from mate because if it's the UK it is being sold for nearly half price now in gamestation I believe. I don't like to buy them new, and usually hold off until they become available pre-owned however there are exceptions to that rule and Skyrim is one of those! You must get it as it is truly awesome (I don't think there are any other games that have annoying bugs like Elder Scrolls/Fallout but the game is so epic you let it slide!!)
On a different note, I have only recently been reacquainted with MIMP but I love it how the daedric prince Hircine from the Elder Scrolls series has the deer/antler thing going on much like the MIMP figure herne the hunter!

Well i've just started playing this and its epic!
Level 42 and have already beat the expansion. I couldn't stand being a Vampire so I switched back to Werewolf.

From what I understand you can be a vampire without the DLC. I'm not entirely sure since I followed werewolf storyline. I think you have to be one or the other. The DLC adds to these abilities and gives vampires an extra form to change into. But if you're on the PS3, you may never know... Bethesda is having a hard time figuring out how to get Dawnguard running properly so they don't have an official release date yet. If you're on the 360, congratulations, let me know how it turns out!well when I say just started on and off though the year but now have really sat down with it.

Surprised this thread isn't bigger? I loved Skyrim, I recently picked it up on the PC, I can never go back to a Bethesda game on consoles thanks to mods, here's a screen shot from my game.

Just switched over from RealVision ENB to Grim and Somber:Azura, so far I'm liking this ENB more, may become my standard for awhile.

I've read the game is bigger than Oblivion by around 60 percent, but it still feels a bit small when compared to something like Morrowind, some of the locations counted in Skyrim though weren't noteworthy enough to me to be considred locations and stops, just "landmarks". One of the reasons I couldn't play on consoles anymore, mods extended the game on PC for me and now I'm back in and hoooked, and speaking of Morrowind...

I have a serious love/hate relationship with Morrowind.
I easily logged the most amount of time into that game, with several playthroughs of the different races, (and then the friggin' huge expansions).
But godDAMN did they ever need a better fast travel system. It would takes ages to complete the simplest quest due to a serious lack of proper travelling. Speed and athletics were frequently maxed on my characters. The best part about console is that I could jump into a safe body of water and tie down my joystick in a position that makes my character swim. Then I'd aim it at the sky to prevent drowning, and go do other things for a couple of hours. I'd come back to a higher athletics skill every time. (Unless it froze, which Morrowind was incredibly prone to doing on Xbox).
To be honest, Oblivion has been the best so far. They need to take the excellent graphics of Skyrim and dump them into Oblivion and call it a day. Was fighting dragons fun? For about the first maybe ten or so. Eventually it just gets down-right annoying, (especially when you rend them and they take off like a bat out of hell to their pre-determined landing pad across the map).
Bethesda needs to finish with their crappy MMO and make the next TES chapter.
Also: Plox to bring back horse armour.

And Ordinators as they'll appear in Skywind:

One of four types to appear in the remake.

Playing around with the new Sicarius Refuge mod, player home geared towards assassin characters, loving this house mod, and I'm currently using and will most likely be sticking with Bleak ENB

Also in skyrim after being high level and having found lots of places and possibly having so much stuff the game gets real slow.. some loadingscreens can last up to 20 min. Its insanely annoying...
BTW i have the 360 Version but thats not the problem i think since my friends skyrim works and he even has all the DLCs

Skyrim I think suffers from the same problem all Bethesda games do, great game, up until you discover it's much better a base line game for creating your own, the games always ship with some sort of issue from the get go, all the way from morrowind to the games now, mods really did extend the life of the game for me, I've logged in countless hours just fiddling with the creation kit and editing npc's and worldspaces, so I look at Skyrim and all Bethesda games as great for editing on the PC, loadtimes aren't much of an issue as well.
