I just recently got reunited with some old buddies! Used to have a handful of these little froggie dudes as a kid. I kinda remember getting 'em as arcade prizes for tickets...ah, the good ole days. Had five as a kid, and got five again. I know at least six sculpts exist. One I had as a kid is not shown in my current collection.

Never saw the sitting frog with the sword before! New to me. I used to have a frog with a shield and scepter (or maybe a spear). For all I know, a thread may already exist on these, but I didn't see one...BUT, anyone have any more knowledge on these boys? Were there more than six? Did they have a proper name? I've heard whispers that color variations may exist...supposedly blue ones (maybe). I also coulda swore I saw JUMBO-sized versions of these at some point.

I think you are right that they might have been on the board before. I think some one pegged them as bullywugs from the Dungeons & Dragons toy line.

They don't show up here, but if you got em as arcade prizes they might be knock offs.

Did I sell those to you? I had a handful of those I got when I was a kid for about a nickel a piece. They were with other small toys in a separated bin style table at a dollar type store.

Maybe it was you...just won 'em off eBay...can't remember the seller's name off the top of my head. I've been searching for those for quite some time (again)! I was always curious if these ever got any kind of packaged release, but always assumed not.

Nope, not me, and they were loose in a bin when I bought them.

I have a few of these. Got 'em as prizes at local carnivals in the early '90s, I think. I always liked these buggers. I know for sure I have the middle two sculpts in the photo above. The one all the way on the right is funny--looks randomly cute, more like a Disney character or something.

The far right one looks like a knock off of a knock off.

I know for sure I had the one with sword and sheild, can't remember for the life of me where I got it though. Not sure if I had any of the other ones though, wouldn't mind having them again, but not up for spending cash on some random thing atm.

Hey everyone, I hope some people who still post here have some interest in these because they are the only reason I made an account here! There seems to be very little information about this set on the internet. In fact, while most of the few sources say it was possible that these were sold in vending machines in addition to definitely being distributed as arcade prizes and none confirm that they were sold in vending machines, I actually remember getting the two I have in vending machines at a pizza parlor. The vast majority of the information about these available online that I've found was in this thread and these two blog posts:

http://www.littlewei...g-warriors.html

http://www.littlewei...re-of-them.html

Pictures in the second blog post linked above confirm the theory in the first post of this thread that these were made in larger sizes as well.

I have the one standing with the shield and sword and the one with the spear, although mine with the spear is all green except for the black eyes and I always thought the spear was a staff. (I like wizards and I thought it was a frog wizard with a staff.) I haven't seen any others without the red and yellow paint like that online so perhaps it's rare. I'll take pictures and post them sometime.

I can't find any on eBay right now. Please let me know if you have any you'd be willing to part with! I will pay or trade and I threw nothing out from my childhood so I have tons of old toys to trade.

I have a handful of these (those are my links you posted) and enjoy their charming crappiness. The tiny ones I had since I was a kid, and the larger ones I got more recently from someone else so I'm not sure how they were originally released. I don't think I've ever seen one with only the eyes painted like you describe. Maybe just a factory error?

Could be, I really have no idea. I'll try to post a picture sooner rather than later.

Another bit of information from the first post I can confirm is that there were at least six sculpts even though the picture above only has five. A sixth can be seen here on the left. It's somewhat hidden but you can see it clearly enough to tell it is a distinct sculpt from the same set.

Awesome, thanks for posting the link! It seems since I've been looking, unfortunately the only frog warriors that have popped up on eBay have been in lots with other kinds of toys that searching for "frog warriors" would not have turned up. And I really don't feel like looking through pages and pages of random lots. :/

However, I did notice that in the link you provided, the frog warrior for sale looks like the one I described above that I have with only the eyes painted black and the rest being green:

Maybe it's not that rare after all.
