New Wii U game?  This is the FIRST Nintendo Original IP since 2001's PIKMIN!!!  (No I'm not counting the Mii games, like Sports and the like...)

My buddy bought it and brought it over last night. It honestly isn't all that great. The only weapons worth using are rollers and automatic weapons, forget about the sniper and shotgun.

It's trying really hard to be a fun, class-based shooter but it falls short in a few areas. It's meant for kids, and kids will enjoy it, but as an adult gamer it was just not that enjoyable of an experience for me.

 

Also: Nintendo needs to lose the motion control gimmick. Nobody even cares about it these days. You can disable it, but they don't even tell you that it's an option!

It's not my age that was a factor in not playing. It's just that it was a game designed for younger people with less refined skills. The game is so cut-and-paste.

Everyone is free to enjoy it or not. This is, obviously, my opinion on the matter.

That's too bad... it seems to be getting mixed reviews.  I'm looking forward to it, but don't have it yet.  I'm hoping whatever issues it suffers from can be worked out in the updates/ dlc.  I heard it also doesn't have nearly enough arenas... something like 5?

 

If you do end up getting it, let me know and maybe we can figure a time to play (once I get it myself lol...).  Then again, we never did figure out the time difference on Mario Kart!! ; )

 

I see in that interview I posted that they may be doing a Wii U Animal Crossing... (or at least that was the implication).  How much ya wanna bet that there is a bunch of AC Amiibos?

Haha I had to play around. I won't be playing it because I do not own a modern system. SNES and Dreamcast for me!

I believe that there were five arenas. Given all of the things I need to save for this year, (TF Con and full licence test in July, police fitness test, new car, and fan expo in September!), I am buying very few video games and even toys for the remainder of this year. I will let you know if we end up getting it though!

As for Mario Kart, we keep going through spurts of playing it. We put it down for over a year and then a couple of months ago started playing again. And then stopped a week or so later and haven't played since. My 6 year old plays it now, and I dare you to race her. She's pretty damn good at that game now!

If they do make a Wii U Animal Crossing, (which would be both unsurprising and awesome), we will definitely find a way to buy that. Me and the wife have played every one since the first one and my oldest even loved the most recent one on 3DS. It would be cool to have a console version again. Hopefully they add some split-screen this time around.

Havent played it yet, but I like that squid amiibo. It seems like an odd game, but De Blob was awesome so maybe Splatoon will be fun?
I imagine multiplayer is where its at.

Good eye!! I've pointed out to other people that it really reminds me of De Blob... I mean there aren't that many "cover the world in ink" type games lol - so it stands out. I never played the second De Blob, but I really thought the first one was a breath of fresh air. Really original.

I've decided that I'm waiting until toys r us has one of their buy 1 game and get another for 40% off deals... Then I'll get it. Anyone remeber when Xenoblade is coming out? Maybe I will buy them together.
