I'm kind of digging them too. I'm a sucker for clear figures.

I could never get into hoh b/c they were about the same quality as plastic army men. These look to be better quality and thicker than hoh.

The bulkier Hulkish HoH figures were nice... These all seem to kind of have that feel to them. I have seen reports that they are 2", and 2.5"... I'm not sure which it is, but the smaller the better IMO.

I'm pretty sure they're 2", they have another 2.5" line with modular playsets: http://toyland.gizmo...toys-1679424257

These do look pretty sweet! I was a fan of HoH and have hundreds of them, but I have to admit these look cooler.

Just got a full case from BBTS. I ended up with all 24 different figures, no dupes. Seems the way to go for a complete set for sure. Price averaged out to 2.30 per figure.

I'll post some pics later today. Nice little figures, but I wish they would have thrown some more paint on some figures.

I have seen a partial Series 1 case at a Target now.

I'm going to save up for an ebay case (set) -- cheaper than retail.

Lowest price currently is $46 shipped or $1.92 each.

BTW, Series 2 is already on ebay.

Here is a side-by-side comparison of the first two checklists.

Variants galore.

Already up to 5 Hulks!

Wasp before Ant-Man? Weird.

Blackwing? Man, that was a left-field excuse to reuse the Falcon sculpt...

Oh hey, what's up World War Hulk? Missed you, homie.

I find it interesting that there is no Wolverine, or any of the characters tied up in Fox movies. Marvel is pretty dedicated to scuttling those brands.

So, the goal is 500 figures.

At 24 per series, that is going to be 21 series.

(Yikes!)

Probably do 4 series a year for 5+ years.

Man, better squeeze in 5 series per year.

(Get on it Hasbro.)

BTW, this will cost each completist around $1,050.

I say, not gonna happen.

Especially -- especially -- with this rate of nonsensical reused sculpts.

Why on Earth are they already reusing Hawkeye and Nick Fury?

Two Punishers?  Two Ghost Riders?  Three Thors?!?

Couldn't the variants come after we see some X-Men, FF, GOTG, etc?

Say in Series 18 and 19, maybe?

(Gotta course correct, Hasbro.)

I predict a Series 3 and Series 4 with new characters, but the same variant nonsense.

Then -- the toyline will die (or rather be killed).

But who knows, the MLP blind bag series is in its 13th or 14th series -- and it is full of variants (as far as I can tell).

Part of its appeal is, no doubt, that the series are not numbered at all.

It's a impulse buy -- just jump in at any time.

People hesitate when they discover something at, say, Series 4.

Do I really want these? Do I really want to commit to tracking down the earlier sets?

They took Kre-o Transformers to Series 4, then reset the numbering for two more series, then did another reset for two more themed series.

Seems to be dead now (at least in the US) after 8 series (not 21, jeez).

I'd like to see Marvel 500 make it to 500 figures.

I really would.  I'd even pay them. (Get it.)

I just don't want 50 versions of Spider-Man, 50 versions of Iron Man, and 17 versions of Hawkeye.

Not that the market would allow that anyhow.

I get that variants are cost effective.

But if Hasbro is embarking on a stated goal of 500 figures, c'mon, actually invest in the idea.

Throwing so many variants right from the start is more of a "testing the waters" move.

They definitely haven't committed to 500 figures.

They can't even commit to 24 original sculpts!

(There are 23 sculpts in the first 48 figures.)

Better would have been 24 original sculpts packaged in themed sets (Avengers, X-Men, Spider-man, GOTG, etc).

Quick succession of sets.  No numbering.

Different sets simultaneously in different markets.

When Series 2 hits TRU, Series 1 shows up at a discount store.

No variants (or at least very, very few variants) until say 100 unique figures are out.

OR put the variants in alternate packaging (multi-packs, store exclusives, etc)

Commit to the goal of 500.  Seriously.

Hasbro could hit 500 quickly (with fan enthusiasm to boot) if they showed reverence for the characters.

And treated the line with just a fraction of the respect that is shown for Marvel Legends.

But this is just an impulse line and basically amounts to ephemera in the toyworld.

Still, man, that's $1000 that collectors would throw your way if it were handled right.

(Get it together Hasbro.)

Here is an unpacked Series 1 set, ebay photo:

You know, I got a handful of these, including the Ghost Rider that I wanted... And I just have to say, that these are actually kind of terrible. I truly hope children like these. I love that they are doing a Wasp figure, but man, these are super inferior to Handful of Heroes.

I kinda like the art style that they seem to be using from their Mashers line. I'll have to keep an eye out for em. if I like em I think I would want a Masher of a Sentinel to be somewhat in scale.

Has anyone seen that Series 3 is out? I feel like the paint jobs are way better this time around.

If anyone has an abundance of Blizzard and/or She-Hulk (Jen not the red version), I'm on the lookout. :) For some reason I find these incredibly difficult to feel for.
