Hey L' Rubs,

I'm fixing to unload 200+ MIMP on ebay in the next week or two. My dumb question is: Are there any commons (toys in a common color) that are rare or harder to find than the others? Inotherwords, are any of the Series 1 red, olive green, yellow, or purple toys rare?

Nothing like coming into a room full of toy collectors and saying "I'm looking to sell some toys...what's the best way to make sure you don't get a good deal?".

Quick answer: Yes :)

Long answer.... Series 1 Neons are generally rarer than the normal colours, and 25pt figures are rarer than 5pt figures generally. That being said, there are some very rare medium point figures in normal colours, E.G. Yellow Kali.

Series 2 wise, the 3 rarest figures seem to be Orange Ganesh, Blue Jabberwock and Green Dragon.

If you take photos of what you're selling/ what you have, post them here, and I have no doubt you will quickly recieve very good offers for the rare figures, and also a lot of advice on them :)

P.S. If you have an Orange Ganesh, I will pay/trade very well for it ^_^

cool, thanks! so a yellow Kali is scarce. Anyother series 1's stand out as being scarce? If it is too many to list then don't worry about it. I just didn't want to sell a rare common color. I'm going to collect the Kali sculpt, so I would have kept that toy rare or not.

Yeah, I know. I'm just curious about just the common colors yellow, olive, purple, and red though.

I'll deffinately post some pics after I decide what I'm going to collect. Deffinately going to collect about 10-20 sculpts and go for full color sets of those particular sculpts. I'm a neon color FREAK so I'm going to keep all the neons(actual neons, like neon red and neon yellow). I'm going to keep all the premuims(I have about 10 so far) and GITDs, no matter what sculpt. I'm confused about series 2, so I might hang onto them and sell my doubles. Series 2 sculpts, overall, are very strong, and might start with a full Series 2 sculpt set and see how that looks.

You should just post a picture of the figures here first.

You will either be flooded with PM's because you have a rare figure that people need, or people will point out the rare figures - it's win/win. This guy left a lot of money on the table by playing coy.

There are very few 'rare' figures in the common original colours. The most prominent exception is yellow and red Kali and Catoblepas which were apparently exclusives with the Monster Clash board game (although they seem to turn up elsewhere - a member on this board showed a photo of one of these figures in a sealed 24-pack). A while ago board member Brojo sent me a picture of rare original coloured figures including olive green Red Cap, red Medusa, yellow Ogre and olive green Gremlin. But I can't really confirm whether or not these guys or actually rare or where Brojo sourced this information from. I recently got an olive green Red Cap in a trade so I suppose they can't be that rare.

Wow, good info! thanks. I REALLY like the Kali sculpt and want to collect her, this should be fun. .....it's something about a woman with four arms, lol.
