that's sooo wierd....  i could have sworn i sent all that info to you in a PM, but its all here in my custom thread...bizar...

no, rotb scorpion does not have horizontal lines.  i thought about adding them, but the sculpt already has so much detail that trying to add super thin black lines all the way along the body wouldnt look right and it would be nearly impossible to make them thin enough and straight.  i used a dark green wash which does give a slight "lined" effect, but i just used the scorpion color scheme of green body, with dark green hands/feet.  i did give him the scorpion black mask though.

Kind of glad you accidentally posted it here. After seeing your Rocksteady custom, my first thought was to do a RotB version.... probably skip that idea now. Awesome job as always though!

Man, I'm never disappointed when you update this thread. Are you using an airbrush to do these?

Not that I know much about painting figures, but I can't fathom how you're getting such perfect gradient blends if you're using a paintbrush haha

thanks bachamn, that's a huge compliment :D

as much as I would love to use air brush, I don't know how to :(  the funny thing is that I actually have a new airbrush kit that I got from a family member a few years back.  only thing i'm missing is an air compressor and the know-how to do it.   ...one of these days....

when I paint I use simple washes and dry brushing techniques.  I just try my best to pay attention to (and match as best as possible) specific details.

here's a couple items.  another tmnt style rocksteady.  this time themed after the cartoon version.

IMG_4756_zps5315228a.jpg

also during Christmas, this little badboy arrived in the mail!  a little surprise from Eric Nilla.  what a fantastic little pizza zombie character.  it was originally a silverfish rubber/plastic figure and whatever rubber was used to make it, it wasn't overly friendly to being painted.  I washed and scrubbed it up real good, but man it did NOT want that paint to adhere.  I had to give it a black base coat.  black will usually tend to coat when most other colors bead up/not coat.  once I got a solid base layer on it, it was fine.

once the paint dried, you can really notice all the nifty little details eric sculpted into this little guy.  pizza dude's a pretty rad little figure :D

THANKS ERIC!!!!!!

Do you still do customs? I just started collecting the m.u.s.c.l.e.s from the 80's and I feel like the big desire for them in the forums was years ago around 2012, and I'm somewhat late to the party. I can't ever find recent posts. I came across a few of your works for sale. I have a few special figures that I've owned since I was a kid. I only ever owned a handful, 12 to be exact, and I thought what better way to preserve them than to have you work your magic on them.
