O.k. I am rewatching some old shows that I used to like and this brought up an interesting thought for myself. Who was my all time favorite villian? Now I am excluding most American villians in my mind because some of them are just so corny lol so I thought Japanese. My personal favorite, after thinking about it for a while, is Kagato from the original Tenchi Muyo ovas.

You?

Phew. This is tough. If we're talking about villains from cartoons I watched as a kid? Even though it wasn't my favorite cartoon, I LOVED Mumm-Ra. That dude was nuts.

There was always something fun about Bluto, from Popeye, too.

As far as Japanese cartoons, I like a lot of the villains from One Piece.

Glomgold was awesome. I also loved Shere Khan because of the awesome voice of Tony Jay.

And also this guy, Xanatos

Yeah, dude, Gargoyles was rad as f**k. Xanatos was great, because he was really the first morally ambiguous villain for saturday morning style boys' cartoons. Dude was cool as a cucumber.

I wish they would release the rest of the series on DVD. Xanatos was such a great, complex character. The show was really dark for a cartoon and felt more adult.

I have season 1, and volume 1 of season 2.

Teen Titans got really dark, too. I wanted to include Slade, but I wanted to avoid just doing comic book cartoon villains. Two Face from Batman TAS was pretty damned deep, too. I was actually surprised that he didn't make the cut for "The Batman" (which, as a series, was highly underrated).

I loved Hamill's Joker, forgot to include him. But he is WAY over the top. But I'll always think of Conroy/Hamill as Batman and Joker.

Also loved Batman Beyond, though its only flaw was a lack of consistently good villains after season 1. Blight was great.

I think a lot of anime seems corny. Characters are very winy to me...the classic "noooooooooo- with hands reaching for the sky in the rain-kind of deal.....There's only been a couple of movies/ shows I have even been able to sit through and finish....

Mumm-Ra is thee most evil. His laugh is madness driven and he is eternal!

The Claw is cool. You only see his arm and the dude still seems evil.

Gargamel is pretty evil too. He eats little blue dudes and abuses cats.

Skeletor is a pretendavillian. He wishes he could kill He-Man, but he just can't. He's not evil enough. Randor even lets him and his crew abide in Eternia without consequence! Haha.....But he is funny.

The Goblin was great.

ScoobyDoo had the best assortment of villains. They were all cool!

Wyle E. Coyote is my favorite Looney Tunes character, right next to Daffy Duck. Good call.

lol I have watched a ton of anime in my life time and there is few villians that I would chuck on this list. I would add Vicious from Cowboy Bebop, the Laughing man, and that evil dude from Lodoss wars.

Laughing man lol love that dude

Actually you spelt "villain" correctly, which is more than several of our native English speakers managed :)

Shockwave and Soundwave. But I never watched G1 as a child, so I am unsure if those count.

I loved Beast Wars as a kid. My favourite villain from that series is probably a serious tie.

Does Waspinator even count as a villain? He's so goddamn harmless. Rampage was also pretty cool, especially since it's entirely possible he was only evil because Megatron had direct control over his spark. And who could forget Inferno? Constant comic relief, what with only referring to Megatron as, "My Queen!" (His beast mode is an ant).

Too many favourites to pick, bro.

I love Beast Wars. For me Tarantulas was the top bad guy on that show. He always made Megatron look stupid.
