I know the WII U owners are a minority on LRG (hell they are a minority anywhere...), but for those of you that have one... Anyone planning on getting Bayonetta 2?

I'm excited about it, but I'll be honest I never played the first one. I've heard it's fun. But since the new one also comes packaged with the old one, I guess I get around to playing the first!!!

Who else is planning on getting it?

Very, very heavily considering it. I've never played Bayonetta either but have always heard good things, and being bundled together with the first game makes it infinitely easier to check out the full story. The bad thing about it is that the Wii U is so often monopolized in my household for non-gaming reasons like Netflix, so I can't be certain I'll end up with enough time to reasonably play through two story campaigns. It's for that reason a lot of my gaming time has slanted to PC and 3DS even though I've got things like Mario Kart sitting there, waiting to be touched more often.

I'm excited - but I'm still cheap.  SO I will wait for it to come down in price.  But yeah - what a VALUE with both games included.

I love Platinum studios - so I hope it does well.  And I love Nintendo so I hope it does well... because they just shoot themselves in the foot on a pretty regular basis for anything that resembles a 3rd party game.

Not to be OT but are you getting Smash Bros?

We need to do an LRG smash bros tournament if peeps are getting it.

Honestly,

I never got into it.  I know I know... I must be crazy.  It just never grabbed me.  I would love to help with a tournament though.  I wanted to do a MK 8 one (and still do), but I don't think we have enough LRGers with the time and/or Wii U.

Maybe when the DLC for the MK8 comes out in a couple of weeks we will have some more MK 8 activity.

I honestly don't know! For one thing, it comes out the same day as Pokémon Alpha Sapphire, which is a must-own for me. For another, it suffers from the same problem as Wind Waker and Mario Kart 8 currently do, or Bayonetta 2 if I buy it. I'm not particularly good at Smash either, but the very biggest reason I'm not super-interested in the game?

Since the MK8 hype died down a bit, Smash would be the best way to connect with the few Wii U players I know among my friends and you guys too, so in that sense it's appealing, but I abhor buying up a game for online play that gets abandoned by everyone else a month later because they moved on to the next shiny new thing. I've watched my circle of friends do it with Mario Kart and all the AAA Xbone and PS4 games of the past year. I don't feel like feeding into that with Smash, especially without a ton of money to throw around, but I haven't totally ruled it out.

Bayonetta is different in that it would be an entirely different experience for me as I've never played it and it's not nearly as dependent on multiplayer.

Yeah - what few Wii U friends I have... I'm still jamming with MK8 online and most of them have moved onto other games by now. That's always frustrating. But hopefully quality DLC brings folks back into the fold.

As much as I want to play Bayonetta, money is tight so I may have to wait. Although politic.y I want to support it,because it's just the type of game that deserves to do well on the Wii U. At the end of the day , I probably won't be buying it new full retail price. Last week I heard that there was a secret Bayonetta unlock able character in Wonderful 101!! I might have to go back and play that one some more...
