Those are sweet. What are you casting them in? Plastic, rubber, kool-aid?

I quite enjoy the tone but I can't wait to mix up the uv green, that will be a blast.

Steve, lookin rad brudda!!!

Thanks man!

I'm casting them in a urethane plastic, I've found it to be quite durable, I've dropped this set on concrete a few times today for the hell of it and so far so good. More specifically it's smooth-cast 325 colormatch urethane plastic, from smooth-on.

I use 325, but to be honest, I'm not that hot on it. The pieces that I've done with it, unless they are one chunky block, wind up being kind of brittle. I'm probably doing it wrong, haha

Have you talked to smooth-on about that? They are great about answering questions and helping with their product. Sounds to me like your mix may be off just a hair or the pieces are too thin,Not an expert but that's where I've had issues

Could be. I will have to ask them about it, because almost everything I have cast in 325 has been brittle. Eh.
Still, your guys look awesome, and I'm sure they will be better than the crap I wind up with as finals.
(Hence why I rarely, if ever, put pictures up...)

Resin is never all that strong, dropping it from a high point on concrete will probably break it, otherwise you'd really have to try to break it.
If it's super brittle somethings wrong for sure.

Good :p pick up more than one I wont mind.

Greenstuff is pretty awesome, Clawgrugg was doen in castilene (wax) which I prefer over anything else.

Story line time~

The world is in turmoil after years of rebellion war and hate the planet erupts into a nuclear hellfire. Earth is a barren inhospitable wasteland with few civilizations dotting the once fruitful plains. Man is virtually no more as Mutation took hold accelerating the course of man’s adaption to this new and harsh environment.
Although life may still exist on this foul planet War and hatred still tears it asunder. Oculus Viri along with a small band of what is left of the united states still hold up within the ruins of the former white house.

Imperator Lacertus the disgustingly cruel leader of the FOEZ, Skekiltor his right hand, and Clawgrugg the general, Will stop at nothing to crush the only thing standing in his way. Oculus and his gang of rag tag mutants.

Oculus Viri the leader, Sam Atom the brute, and Noctu the mind, are working to amass an army of their own kind in order to protect the freedoms of their people.

Who will win the war for control of this post-apocalyptic civilization?

I'm sold.

Also, my experience falls right in with what you're saying about the resin... I have been looking into different types of rubber to cast in, because durability is really important to me.
Would it be possible, to get a set where each character is cast in his 'base color'? As in, whatever color you pictured them being, predominately?

I have heard of a lot of success with the PT flex, but with a wait time like 7 days to de-mold it would halt my production. If you're willing to wait I'd say try it.

That is something I intend to work on, currently I'm waiting on white resin so I can do opaque colors.

Nice. I would be the most interested in the opaque figures, especially with them being as close to the color that you imagined them.
I have been shopping around for different resins and rubbers. It seems like there is always going to be a steep trade-off (Durability versus Time), unless you have a injection molding set up.

I saw a video with a guy that had converted a drill press into one... That's my goal.
Until then... Hahaha

Still, I'm really pumped for what you've got going on. Can I say that again? I think I've gushed enough, but I will end on the caveat that, they remind me so much of the crap I loved as a kid (TMNT companions, TBB, etc).

7-days~??? i demold in 1hr-1 1/2 hrs. haha

as long as you dont mix a small amount at a time (at least 1/2 cup worth) it should be stable enough to demold. you can tell cuz if its less it will be a little tacky. but put it in a bag and its fine.

Seriously? Damn, that's what I get for going by the msds and information on the product page. still though that's a long wait, I like urethane I can demold in about 5-10 minutes.
Thanks for the heads up though.
