Im just curious as to how many of the muscle figures have connections to real wrestlers from the past?

Divide & conquer works because of attachments people make to push-button issues, individual "leaders," parties, clans, tribes, policies, or agendas, leaving them open to manipulation.

#10 Jessie Maivia is patterned after the Rock's grandfather, I believe.
#41 is Beauty Rhodes
#28 is Jimmy Stimbord (related to/patterned after Ricky the Dragon Steamboat?)

I always connected these guys together in my imagination:
#126 Hulkster!
#14 Big John Stud
#29 Rowdy Roddy Piper
#37 Kid Dynamite (British Bulldogs)
#62 Iron Sheik (on crack, haha)
#63 Poppin Paul Orndorff
#75 George the Animal Steele
#116 Was Jason Vorhees
#125 Martian Manhunter
#136 was Andre the Giant
#162 Mene Gene Okerlund
#165 Adrian Adonis
#180 was the bad guy from Beast Hunter
#192 was Dr. Mindbender
#193 was Jake the Snake Roberts

and that was pretty much it. :kid:

Crap! I hadnt had a chance to check this thread again but ill be checking the poster later to see what you guys are talking about.

Side note: Are all of the Muscles "named" characters or were some on the poster toy only figures that were "generic"?

OHHH Yeah....

Ive never been a huge wrestling fan (always on the fringe with very mild interest) but as a kid i had much more interest as Wrestling was simply good entertainment back then.

I have GREAT memories of being upstairs in my parents room and on the television on a channel that was supposed to be Pay Per View only for some odd reason i was able to get a fairly clear picture of the PPV event:

The Natural Disasters versus the Legion Of Doom.

:D :woot: :woot:

I wasn't a fan of LOD then but they put on a fairly good show that night. The fact that the cable company accidentally broad casted the event free (in my home at least) was even better. I was glued to the tube watching those mountains take on LOD. Good Match. Good Memories lol.

I had a chance to look over the figures you guys were talking about

You know 126 does strike me more as Hogan than the other guy with the shades and spiked armor that , up until now, i thought was the most Hogan inspired muscle.

#10 Jessie Maivia - I was JUST reading about this guy last night briefly *regarding his "wrestling family.
#41 is Beauty Rhodes - DEAD on. I wouldnt have noticed had you not pointed it out.
#14 Big John Stud - IF he was on the Atkins diet
#62 Iron Sheik (on crack, haha) - The Sheik has hit hard times baby!
#63 Poppin Paul Orndorff - i want this figure
#75 George the Animal Steele -- another extreme likeness. Someone paint his mouth green!
#192 was Dr. Mindbender
#193 was Jake the Snake Roberts - the demon spirit of Jake. I suppose a bottle of liquor should be in one hand.

#101 savage - Thats just wrong lol. LOL
#41 dusty Rhodes - again dead on.
#123 ultimate warrior - couldnt be more obvious. Damn that Warrior...what could have been in his wrestling"career". Ah well..he could have ended up like his replacement -> The RENEGADE - interesting story

Well if you count wrestlers who resemble M.U.S.C.L.E.s then #43 is who Curry Man who recently got fired from TNA tries to resemble.
SharkBoy could also possibly be #52.

God Von Erich- Fritz Von Erich
Dynamite Piper- Roddy Piper
Chavo Kuerorri- Chavo Guerrero

Very interesting tread. As a kid of the 1980's I found it pretty fun.

When I heard Neptuneman (no 16, 71) was modelled after the Hulkster I wondered if they're was more!

As a kid I always found No 77 looked like a 4 armed King Kong Bundy.

#75 George the Animal Steele

He also look pretty close to Abdula the Butcher. Both are monster heel anyway and the same type of big brawly monster men!
