Farm Animals ETC part 2 w/ PICTURES THIS TIME

Best Answer plasticfiend , 13 October 2016 - 05:33 AM

Im fairly certain your truck is a marx truck. I found a picture of it without the star and numbering on the hood. sadly , I found it on pintrest and cant copy the link here.

The Triceratops is absolutely a Marx dinosaur. The other marking on the tail isn't 20, it's "20' Long", which is neat. Marx tried to cram some extra education into their original toys.

The cavemen also match the look of the original Marx cavemen figures. That may very well be the origin of all the figures in this thread, given the age you gave of them at the beginning.

This page covers both Marx cavemen and dinosaurs, while the site in general has plenty of other coverage on other Marx figure lines. You can check out the various categories in detail here.

Much much more to come...

I'm looking for ID's on these figures. I will sell them at some point, but right now I'm just trying to figure out what I have and where to start in regards to some of my research. Thanks for taking the time to look. It will take me a couple of minutes to upload the photos, but I am writing out some of the descriptions first. So give me a few extra minutes.

1. Little flesh sitting girl. Not hard plastic - more rubbery. A little brittle from age.

2. Sitting yellow girl, hard plastic.

3. Lot of brownish plastic animals. Heavy figures - ALMOST like it was a hard rubber. Not so much plastic.

4. Caveman figures - dense hard plastic figures.

5. Civil War cream colored figures. Each on has the name of who it is on the bottom of the figure. For example - Abe Lincoln, General Lee, Jeff Davis, General Grant.

6. Green Army Truck. Very old... not sure what to say about it. No markings.

7. Red British??? Military Men.

8. Grey dinosaur - says 20 on one side and Tricerators on the other. Heavy plastic.

Thanks guys!!

Some might - I don't see the yellow girl in that set.  HOWEVER, you did help me find those horses... I haven't posted them yet, but I have a bunch of horses with hollow bellies as shown in the pictures.  Thanks Red!  You rock!

Thanks for the update!!!  Auburn is the company that made the toys in the link that Red gave me.  Seems like given the time period - most everything is either Auburn or Marx.  And at least in this batch, mostly Marx.  I'm gonna post more stuff up here in a few days.

The only thing from this batch that seems to be a mystery is the pink rubber girl.

I would love to mark solved on each of your comments - because all THREE of you had a hand in identifying various pieces... not quite sure how that works.  I think I can only do one.

To top off the info on the truck, I have seen two versions on line. yours seems to be an older model.
