Ok, just to go out on a limb...let me ask...

Is Hasbro relaunching the series?

The only reason I ask that is because about a year and a half ago I was contacted by the head of the boy's toys division for Hasbro. He was extremely interested in the toy line, all the info I had about the series in the 80's. He wanted card photos, toy photos, etc... He was also extremely interested in my customs and wanted some for his own collection. I tried to meet up w/ him @ SD CC 2006 and we just couldn't hit the right time. I haven't heard from him since. He wanted to do a presentation for the line including a whole multi-media thang...video game, cartoon, lunch boxes, toys, etc...

I know this is a stretch, but, I thought I might just toss it out there. ;)

Yeah, That is what he told me. Although I have had this thought in the back of my mind that for some reason it will be relaunched. You know how many 80's toys have been relaunched, Popples, Care Bears, Cabage Patch Kids, Pound Puppies, hell even the Hot Wheels Sizzlers.

As for the guide, I plan on having all the stuff put in the guide. I just haven't had time, and I think Murphy was going to give me a hand.

Can you imagine how high the prices of the vintage line would go if they Launched a new Battle Beast series that was successful?! Which I'm sure it would be!

Dabbuu, all this suspense is killing me! You got all this stuff from an alien didn't you! Hasbro has known about Aliens for years, and most of their employees are aliens, and you got all this stuff from an ex employee Alien cause you work for the men in black, and have connections. Don't deny it! ;)

Okay as shown correctly by CCvegita the buzzsaw and reefer were featured along with all those other variations of the vehicles for 101, 103, 109 and 112 in the 1988 pre toy fair Hasbro catalog. This catalog is sent to mainly Hasbro vendors and shows the types of items that they are planning to put out in the next year.

Here are the pictures from the catalog taken from Lords site(I wish he knew about all this but he's gone awol):

Interestingly, the vehicle and beast are actually full production pieces with all the copyrights and so forth(I tried to show this in one of the photos but it didn't come out). Takara made all of these figures and vehicles specifically for the catalog and then shipped them off to Hasbro for the magazine. I am pretty sure that Hasbro later in production started making lasers 79-88 (although they also could have just been shipped from takara) but all these originals in the catalog are from Takara. This also means that these vehicles could possibly not be one of a kind but from my understanding that is very unlikely for various reasons.

After the shoot at Hasbro, all the vehicles and lasers were thrown together randomly which is why the yellow buzzsaw ended up with the reefer on the card and not the beast shown in the magazine. Finally, as Shadow Bat correctly assumed, Hasbro went and took these catalog figures and vehicles (so that they wouldn't be wasted) and created a mock up of how they planned to sell them. They took the laser and vehicle and hand made a card, the bubble is hand cut and custom fit, and soon after the line was cancelled and production of this item in this color scheme or on a card in the states never occured.

I think thats all feel free to ask me anything

I'll take one of each please :D lol

This is a really cool history of the BB/LB, these pics are such a tease, esp knowing that most of it doesn't exist anymore.

At least if anyone tries to steal a pic and "sell" it online, they'll have an entire board of knowledgeable people getting them shut down.

Also, I haven't been following all your weekly/daily posts. Do you own ALL the resin hard copies of the BB you posted in photos. It would be nice for you to post a listing of what items you have shown and to whether or not you own the actual items or just photos of them. :D

He doesnt own them, they are just pictures of the original resin copies of the figures. The bases and chariots he does have.

I am a little confused. Shadowbat says he owns the carded buzzsaw and savanna pieces. I wasn't just asking about the resin copy BBs. It would be nice for him to compile a list of what he now owns and what was merely a photo. I gathered he owned the chariots, bases, and the paperwork/photos. I just think that if/when the photos are added to the guide there needs to be a description made in the comments area stating that either the item is in Dabbuu's collection or simply a photo in Dabbuu's collection.

Sorry, I should have been more specific w/ my question.
