Thanks for sharing that, as far as "wouldn't let him list at that price", I read that as "This way I can cheat eBay's final value fee and trick bidders into thinking they're getting a good price". According to his feedback, seller has done this repeatedly; he also has more revised feedback messages than I've ever seen in one place on eBay.
The Beastformers/Laser Beasts community could definitely benefit from this type of series, I've seen some pretty absurd prices and descriptions there.
Maybe if I get a blog up and going again, and Chad doesn't mind me ripping off the concept, I'll make that happen. Call it "Beastly Butthole of the Hour" or something
I would like to see this for BB as well. I keep a look out everyone so often for listings at a fair price and it seems standard s1-3 beasts are going for extremely high prices. When I started around last summer it seemed I could get a good lot for about $2-4 a figure, even with weapons and original rubs at times. Now I'm lucky to find one not going for around $7-10 each.

And another one. I could use lots of these figures, but not at that price!
I was just going to post and ask if I was missing something or if that seller was delusional. I see it is the latter.

That's because people think when they find a BB that they are plastic gold. I have only paid more than $10 for a complete beast when it was a variant, rare, or a series 3.
Series 1 and 2 figures are five bucks complete all the live long day. And I can say that as a person who is around ten pieces away from completing his set. (And I'm sure many will agree with me).

Not to steer too far from the original MIMP topic, but I agree with that assertion. I've also seen Battle Beasts sell for less per figure in lots--the only way I'll buy M.U.S.C.L.E. or MIMP on eBay.
Current collecting goal: obtain all 148 Monster In My Pocket Series 1 figures in regular colors (71.62% there)
So many toys, so little money!

Even beyond the cost, it is a lot of fun just rummaging through a large batch of toys. Especially random batches of stuff you have never seen before.

I wish I could agree with you, but the likelihood of finding complete beasts at that price is pretty slim these days. I lucked out a few weeks ago and got a complete Leapin Lizard and Armadillo on eBay for $7 each and felt that was a good deal. S1/2 are for sure easier to come by but $5 complete is a bit too optimistic. Speaking as someone who has spent WAY too much time and money on BBs

This is true, for sure. You can approach the number Draz mentioned easier this way, but in my experience you'll need to buy a lot of about 20 to do so.

I love how the description 'entices' the buyer in with the old favourites like 'extremely rare' and 'never to be seen on eBay again' etc. I did in fact contact the seller again, pointing out exactly what he had (a premium) and advice on a more accurate guide price to expect.

Wow, yeah...
"also the reason why this auction is starting so high in price is because we already have a provisional buyer & if this figure doesn't sell on this auction it will be sold to a private collector meaning this will not re-appear for sale again eBay."
I've read that sentence four times now and still can't figure out the logic behind it...

God loves a trier
By the way Chris, I have an RC car I'm thinking of selling that I need to PM you about. I just need to find a provisional buyer first before I can list it on eBay

Who knew that the original AOTW and this AOTW would finally cross paths? http://blog.uofmuscl...-of-april-13th/

Who wants a Secret 12 Pack for the low, low price of $300?
http://www.ebay.com/...=item1e8a704621
I noticed he listed them as auctions for $30, but none sold, so he listed them at $300 for Buy It Now. BRILLIANT!

Haha, I saw those yesterday and just knew they'd make it to this thread. I didn't realize he previously had them as auctions for $30. That's some amazing logic at work right there.

Burty has created a fun thread. I hope to keep it alive by posting the worst of the MIMP selling world here.

One of my favourite AOTW listings has once again been relisted - for about the 4th time. I have messaged him, but alas he doesn't listen:

You didn't ask, but I'm going to give you my two cents. Don't bother the seller.
There have been many, many, MANY times I wanted to message the AOTW. But what good would really come from it? They are clearly comfortable with the price they listed. They clearly don't care about the toy. They clearly didn't care to do any research.
I always felt like it was ok to laugh and point (I know that sounds weird, but you know what I mean), but it got nasty if I directly started to "attack" them. Knowledgeable collectors can share a laugh, but we don't need to "attack" them.
