Been rewatching some old series on Netflix from my childhood, MOTU, SHE-RA, TURTLES NEXT MUTATION and currently the original MMPR. Anyway after the first episode I thought about the way Zordon asks Alpha to 'Recruit a bunch of teenagers with attitude'. I guess its just a 90's word thrown in to jazz it up but they really weren't what most people would choose for 'attitude'. I mean, Billy + attitude = ? Maybe, my leanings are to a more 'arrogant type attitude'

Also, didn't Alpha just randomly kidnap them?

Few episodes in I realised Scorpina and Goldar are actually much better fighters until they grow, Why bother making them grow?

Still its a half decent show, granted its tongue in cheek but works on the 20m time. I'd love to see a rubber mini figure line of all the shows characters (namely bad guys) appear in the future

About half way through s2 now, Sadly Jason, Zach and Trini have just left the show. Surprisingly Billy has grown on me, I still think its the wrong part for him though. He's alot more comfortable in the role for sure but he doesn't come across very convincing when talking his science psycho-babble. The new characters Rocky, Aisha and Adam have started well for me, my only two complaints are these

A - The Unicorn zord and Griffin zord look very poor.

B - I miss the opening credits 'ah after 10,000 years I'm free'

I think Lord Zedd was a good enemy leader choice. He looks more 'bad ass' anyway. Still unsure what it means when he glows though, at first I thought it meant he was angry but in the Ninja Encounter episodes in sure he glowed when he was calmer?

I watched MMPR when it first aired, and was crazy about it like every little boy was then. I honestly couldn't tell you any where near this much detail! Crazy what I've forgotten over the years.

Might have to see if this is on Canadian netflix. My youngest would love MMPR!

Hit series 3 now and really don't know if I can watch anymore...

I'm only 7 episodes in and that's been a struggle.

Rewatching the first season after so many years brought back a lot of fond memories, I still felt entertained for 20 minutes. It wasn't EARTH SHATTERING but was enjoyable throughout. I did find myself wanting more from David Yost AKA Billy but otherwise otherwise I'd say the actors suited there parts.

In the second season I was gutted a few of the original actors left and were replaced, The replacements over the entire season never really grew on me, Like most people I guess I still think the originals were the best. The replacement of the Zords was a sore one for me, The sheer look and basicness of the Lion, Griffin and Unicorn Zords really spoiled the overall calling of the Zords, The movement reminded me of those cheap wind up toys we used to have as children. The actual calling of the Zords really grinded on me personally. It felt like ages listening to Aisha calling 'Sabretooth tiger griffin thunderzord power'. This series felt abit loose for me personally, But I put that down to changing actors and Zords.

Then came series 3. . . .

How wrong was I, This feels like a grind. I'm only 7 episodes in and I actually found myself thinking 'I wonder what would happen if I put a plastic farm yard pig into a blender'. I am really struggling to think of anything positive to say about what I've watched so far. It was only a matter of time before they added the word 'ninja' to the show somewhere. The character Ninjor seemed even more annoying than Alpha's repetition of Ay yi yi. Everytime I see Aisha, Rocky and Adam I find myself wishing for there characters to grow somewhat but it hasn't happened as yet.

I just don't know what happened, I'd say the core of the show has gone but I cant put my finger on it, Maybe the writers changed or they wanted to move in another direction but I can honestly say this is just getting boring and tedious. Even the amount of episodes per series seem to back this up.

Series 1 = 60 episodes

Series 2 = 52 episodes

Series 3 = 33 episodes (Oh great another 26 to go)

It was like they knew half way through series 2 it wasn't working, Maybe all Sabans rumoured penny-pinching killed its own show?

I wanted to watch the Revision series but I just don't know if I can keep watching >-<
