It's not crayon rubbing on concrete as you suggested. If you want to post and retract your vote, feel free)

Apparently there are 8th grade artists, and those who act like they are eight (and im not talking about orgg). I wish EVERY SINGLE fan art contest didnt end with sour grapes and poor sportsmanship.

BTW, to the person who asked in PM what I used-- I used MSPaint's spray feature and a little of the pencil. It's not crayon rubbing on concrete as you suggested. If you want to post and retract your vote, feel free)

Ericnilla, when you first presented your design, I knew it would be close to impossible to beat. It's just a downright awesome entry. So many really great entries came in too, but it looks like you've got it. I hope one day to see you take your art to the next level, and add some color. You have a tremendous talent and a great mind for design. It will be a lot of fun to watch your skills and work grow and develop.

Man, if we'd closed the poll one day sooner i'd be in second.

Congrats Nate and Eric, and everyone else too. There was just a ridiculous amount of top-notch art in this contest, i hope the turnouts continue to be this strong for the new patch contests.

thanks guys. but really when kevin, nate and ryan posted their entries i thought i was coming in 4th place, maybe less... there were alot of good entries this time... each FAC is getting better and better.

i too wish all the sour grapes stopped, there is no need for it, especially when its unprovoked.

Well, I had to really think about it, but I finally decided which ones I wanted to vote for. I only voted for two. I'm a sucker for simplicity! I usually like art that doesn't have too much going on.

I voted for Matthew's Claw Army and CZ's Star Claws.

I just really like how Matt incorporated more than one medium into his entry, and it made for a very lovable look that would be killer awesome on a T-shirt or something. They have a zombie walk going on that is just super and for some reason the front Claw seems to be waiting for the others instead of walking toward them, which is just neato. Great Job Man! I wish you would have won this one. B)

And CZ, I don't know exactly why, but i just really like your pic! I like how the Pink skin color kind of denotes a fleshly evil against the red sabers and the black cloaks. I thought it was pretty nifty! I like how the sabers have a flamey look. Thanks for entering this time around.

I know it sounds corny, but I like most entries that people throw in regardless of measure of talent or quality. Talent I feel is completely over rated, because most people think the more photo like or life like an art piece is then that immediately means the person is drew it is a wonderful artist. If this were really the case nobody would like Picasso.

Concept is an important part of art, and if the concept is great enough even a stick figure could win one of these contests. :D I feel that Concept is the reason some of our artists around here have won on many occasions. I mean CRAP! I even Beat out Tortle's T-Rex Skeletal Beast in FAC#3! How did that happen anyway! :(

Sorry to Doc too....I was originally wanting to do a pic just for you, but I had no time at all. I was gonna do a Marvel VS. DC Claw universe picture for you. B) Maybe someone else can do it for kicks. :p

I don't remember, and I don't recall the user name. I deleted the PM...

It was someone with very few posts. They thought it was a scan of a rubbing. Looking at it full screen, it does look like that a bit... I thought the observation was interesting.

Our glorious Milky Way is a tiny, infinitesimal speck of sand in this vast, incomprehensible universe. And somewhere in that Milky Way is our own solar system, less than one billionth of that speck of sand that is the Milky Way. And then there is our planet Earth, one hundred trillionth of that one billionth of that one speck of sand. And on this planet Earth there is DEV-0, an insignificant blemish with a lifespan too short to measure when placed in infinite time.

And you are here, with them, as so many specks of sand.

Can a mod lock the voting please?

Ok guys, as of right now 10:30 10 Apr. Here are the standings and winners:

First place by Voters Choice: EricNilla - $25.00
Second place by Voters Choice: Tortle - $15.00 AKIA Store Credit
My personal favorite: EricNilla - $15.00

I want to seriously thank every participant, and all artwork will soon be displayed on my website with proper identification and credit due to the artists. So many original and unique ideas. I would like to give out 10 prizes, but then it wouldnt have been a contest afterall. Choosing my favorite was really tough, I was torn between 3-4 pieces, but Erics just had something about it. It fit perfectly into the theme of the contest I was going for, it was almost exactly what I was looking for, without even knowing myself what I was looking for.

I hope not to see much negativity surrounding the results of this contest, because like I said, I loved every piece. Fantastic work by everybody!
