Mine has been shipped, should be there today or tomorrow. Also, received mine last night and am going to have a difficult time waiting to open, but will hold off until Christmas. Had a heck of a time coming up with a gift idea, hopefully it will be good though.

Yea coming up with an idea is not easy! I think that my only real suggestion (as this is my first year) would be to maybe start a little earlier? Just so you can have a little more time to plan what you want to do (i spent over a week just trying to figure out what to try). It would also help where people make there own gifts, more time to complete them (couple late nights for me on mine just so I could get it done in time.)

Unless you have some fancy powers, nobody knows who they will be getting next year! ;)

I agree that it can be difficult finding an appropriate gift. The first year i participated I had a member who never really posted at all, so on top of being a new member I also had to contend with someone with virtually no post history! I hope I did well on that one.

I sent what I could, and felt it wasn't enough....I hope my giftee likes it and I'm nervous too!

Usually when people worry about not sending enough, they have sent way too much, ha ha!

This is a fun deal though. Each year is a different type of challenge, but I think it gets a little easier after a few times. All in all, I think if you put a little effort in, mainly some thought about who you're recipient is, you'll do fine.

Overall I had a blast doing this and learned some things about myself in the process BONUS! I will certainly be participating next year!

I think you may have misunderstood me, Just saying if we had like 3-4 more weeks that we knew who it was (aka starting the secret santa thread a bit sooner, and making the cutoff sooner) would be awesome. I also may have just gone crazy on what I made as well and taking me longer than it should have haha.

I sent my gift out and I'm pretty sure it was received already. :D Now if they keep it wrapped until Christmas is a different story.

Still waiting on the postman to deliver mine :wallbash: Tourture

So what are the rules on the gifts after the fact? Are we supposed to stay super secret quiet and never say who we got and what we made? or after they get it can we converse and ask if they like it and say thanks to those who got our gifts? As you can tell I dont do many secret santa's haha.

You are correct. I definitely wasn't picking up what you were putting down. I think a big heads up like that would be good idea that many people would agree with. Maybe draw names Mid-november with a ship-date of December 12? Gives everyone around a month to come up with something, and even if people ship on the last possible day most, (if not all), participants will get their items.

I'd like to know this also.

That being said, I didn't try to disguise my package in any way, so my giftee may recognize my name/address.

I also did not disguise mine but dont think anyone really knows my RL name either. My name is on it and I did sign my piece of work as well... you know in case i become super famous or something eh? eh? hahaha

It is really up to you guys. In past years, people have posted what they got and from who. If you do a board search for "Secret Santa" (in quotes like that) you will see all the old threads, including the reveal threads.

Which reminds me, I should post a 2016 reveal thread.

I like the idea of sharing who got what from whom :)

Also, got mine a few days ago, and it's still wrapped! It taunts me....

Mine is out for delivery! My giftie is welcome to open it early if they wish, leave it totally up to him. If you dont open it right away just be VERY careful with it, its fragile :)

Everyone knows that I love M.U.S.C.L.E., but my Secret Santa had to do some homework to know that I love Lovecraft ;)

Seriously, thank you so much! I love it :)

As for who my SS was, we'll just call him the "Skeleton King" :DAttached File  IMG_3442.JPG   133.87K   6 downloads
