Coming in a bit late on this one, but I thought I'd add my $0.02. Behemoth is probably my favourite because he was the first 25 pointer I ever got when I was a child (obviously I weighed up the aesthetic merits of all the 25 pointers and chose him above all others and who am I to question my 10 years old self?) because he is an obscure biblical reference (well, I suppose Job isn't that obscure, but I certainly didn't pick it as a child) and because he just plain looks cool. This is kind of a shame because it sounds like Behemoth is a favourite for a large percentage of the collectors on this board - so I may have a hard time trying to collect this figure! Other favourites are Cockatrice, Kraken, Haniver, The Beast, Jabberwock ('cause I'm a Carroll fan), Tarasque and Jimmy Squarefoot (if only for the name).

I must add how much it always amused me that they included Tyrannosaurus Rex, but made it look like a cross between Godzilla and a bodybuilder.

And while it's rather simplistic and I didn't used to care for it, I really like the ghost now.

Manticore is a pretty badass design, and Catoblepas is a creative interpretation.

Fachan is another of my favorites in the super-scaries.

That's a real-life Coatlicue as your avatar, isn't it Jack?

That poor, bastitchized dinosaur. From what I read somewhere about the bio for his card, he might as well be a cheap, unlicensed stand-in for Godzilla, only a hideous one at that.

Man, you really nailed that description. He does look exactly like a cross between Godzilla and a bodybuilder...

And yes, that is Coatlicue in my avatar. Check out the picture on wikipedia, the small size doesn't do it justice. Those Aztecs really knew a thing or two about graphic design.

I was just going to add coatlicue to my list...the toy line's description was pretty strangely simplified ("A monster that eats dirt and breathes it as a weapon?") but it's awesome that a little rubber figure exists of more or less the same statue, and of a God with such a disturbing background!

My top ten would have to be (since it's hard to pick just five):
  • Vampiress (she was my favorite as a kid, I dunno why)
  • Drude (I love the crazy look she has going on)
  • Merrow (I love the underwater and this one is great)
  • Kraken (a giant octopus? I'm there)
  • Medusa (she's the only one who's original figure from my childhood I still have)
  • Red Cap (I used to love his description of wearing the blood of his victims on his hat)
  • Haniver (I thought the figure had a great look, even if it's "origin" is lame)
  • Ancient Gorgon (I'm big into Greek Mythology so I loved that Medusa's "sister" got one)
  • Baba Yaga (she creeped my out big time, in a good way)
  • Spring-Heeled Jack (I liked his pose he was in and his role in the comic series)
I never noticed how female-centric my favorites are.
