Since I'm getting bored and angry as hell at bandai for not releasing toys when they should, I decided to make the existing UM toyline more fun. How could I possibly improve on such a fun and exciting toy you ask? Simple, PAINT EM!! <_<

This is gonna take quite some time, since it takes about 3 hours for each one. And I've decided to paint every figure from 1-4 that isn't painted yet. With a few exceptions. AND....If I get a hold of 5-8, I'll paint those too, maybe.

Since I promised Warsmanandramenmanrule that I would do warsman next, who should I do after that, I wanna know who you guys want to see the most.

Anyways, on with the pics! I really like how these turned out, I hope you guys like em too. Here's G2 buffaloman with a new look.

Nice work, I'm very impressed. Maybe you should send pictures of painted G2 to Bandai, maybe they'll worry and release the figures so you don't steal the market.

p.s. Is Magus dancing on your avatar?

That's a nice clean job, and Magus is casting a spell, that was his spell casting animation from Crono Trigger, if you havn't played that game, do so, now, stop reading these forums and go play CT...

looks good. it holds a very 'animated' quality to it, which i dig.
gritty is good, but you pulled off the clean look very well.
i'd like to see your take on the boaconda figure...

keep it up.

(yeah, yeah... that was encouragement from ye ol' hatemonger... it happens...)

Thanks for the kind words guys. :D I agree with Siccx, if you havent played CT yet, stop doing what you are right now and play it. You wont regret it. You can get it for Snes or PS1. And Sniper, I would love to do a horse checkmate, but i don't have doubles of 5-8 yet. Someday maybe... But, you said kevin mask and Ironmask said boaconda, so I'll do trenchcoat kevin mask next, and then boaconda.

Anyways, here's Terryman in all his painted glory. I really like how this one turned out.

Here's my painted Suguru. This one took the longest so far. The symbol on his head and the kin symbol on his chest were pretty tough to paint.

y'know what i found works pretty well for doing large color fills on these lil' guys? tamiya 4wd paint markers! take a look on ebay and see if you can snag a set with a few different, useful colors in it. you'll probably still need to hand-paint small details, but this can make painting them easier, and the paints seem to dry really quickly.

yeah clear sealants work great, i recommend the flat clear sealant (so it won't be shiny) most art shops have them

Yeah, I'm using acrylics. I'm not sure of the brand. I have about 36 different colors. I paint them using a VERY tiny brush. What is a flat clear sealant? Does that prevent it from getting damaged?

BTW thanks for the tip Toyman, I'll have to try and get those. The acrylics run out pretty quick. They do dry really fast too. It would be great to have something so I wouldn't have to use so much of the paint. Getting the colors to match would be kinda hard though.

Again, thanks for all the kind words guys, I'm gonna start on Warsman 2morrow.

You probably are buying cindecil paints, DONT. I mean they are really good, but the are $$$$ and they dry up fast. IMO they are not worth it. I had afew of them (well actually my brother got a large lot for $1 with some warhamer 40k figures) and I personally prefer them in look, but they are not worth it because they dry up REAL fast. I used my moms and hers are many years old and work fine with the exception of afew which are lumpy, but there are ways to restore the paint. My problem is my brushes (the two I use) are split completely and it was amazing I managed to do what I did with what I had with the exception of my wash which I was learning how to do it by just doing it (the only way ^_^ )

I cant wait to see the next one, I just wish you wouldnt have your pictures so fuzzy, but what I can see of it, they were good. Maybe its just the angle i am looking on it on the laptop. I know the camera I use screws up when I zoom in like that but its not a real digital camera, its a video camera which just so happens to have the ability to do so.

As far as a sealant, I dont know anything about it but Marty told me to get a spray and do it about 6inches to a foot away. Its so that the paint doesnt chip, a self explainatory name for once.

Do you give the figures a coat before you actually paint them? I tend not to, but I am starting too sometimes, It depends on the look i am going for.

1. What is a flat clear sealant? Does that prevent it from getting damaged?

2. Again, thanks for all the kind words guys, I'm gonna start on Warsman 2morrow.

1. there are 2 types of spray on sealants, Glossy and Flat, (glossy will make what ever you spray shiny, for example like the finish on a car, and flat, well you can barely notice it is even on after it drys, but protects the paint under it very well).

they are kind of like a clear coat of spray paint, but are very durable, so if you try to skratch on the sealed part really hard with your fingernail it wont chip the paint (but i wouldn't recommend it cuz it leaves kind of a minor mark, but the paint will not rub off or chip).

2. yay warsman is painted next, i cant wait.
