my son is 10, I don't regret taking him either. I think it was me who was shocked that some of those scenes were in it, not him hahaha....he didn't really care.

I can't get my head round how your R rating is basically just a glorified PG.
Here Deadpool is rated 15, which means nobody under that age is getting in, period

Ratings don't really mean anything over here....
As long as there is an adult with a child here in the states, pretty much all employees let kids in whatever movie they want.
They don't want parents to go crazy on them "this aint your child, I raise them however I want, you can't tell me he can't get into this movie just because you say so" kind of thing...Happens all the time over here.....Parents are crazy- especially in sports with their kids.

The theater I worked at just started enforcing a "no child under 6 allowed in rated R films" because people were coming out and complaining that parents were bringing small children into rated R films haha. It was epic the first couple of weeks how many people were enraged.
For certain horror movies and other things people were complaining of babies/toddlers crying and causing problems. I guess it got so bad Regal Cinemas decided to ban under 6 from rated R. So it wasn't a concern that you might corrupt your child, more of a "people complain and we might lose money" concern.
I will say some of the best days were chasing off middle school kids trying to sneak into rated r films.
