I have a large pile of mangled, marked up, or otherwise imperfect MUSCLE.  I have an idea I want to try using the misc. parts of some of the MUSCLE men but not really sure the best way to go apart breaking them down easily.

 

Anyone have any experience with mash-ups and tearing off limbs and heads?

 

Box cutter? Tin snips? Not really sure if a box cutter type blade would be strong enough to cut them up too easily, but also not envisioning snipping them ending up too pretty.  Guess I could overcut and sand them down in some way?

 

I don't have access to any power tools, so I am looking for some sort of hand held option that will be reasonably precise without mangling.  

 

Anyhow, any advice is appreciated.

I usually cast rubber parts in resin then use model snips. Its easier to sand and shave hard resin than rubber.

There are three tools to making a good kitbash muscle figure. You need a meat tenderizer, a blowtorch, and polyfoam. Just throw everything in a bucket, hit it a couple times with the meat tenderizer, cover it and foam and light it on fire. You never know what you gonna get, sometimes it's even a super rare!

Use a fresh scalpel and cut with a little margin that you can remove after. Start by tracing the cut line with the blade all around the part you want to remove the pass again an again until you can cut through. In the end with a single cut make a proper surface.

Thanks guys.  Quite a bit easier than I had expected.  

 

I bought a cheap scalpel / exacto blade thing and went to town harvesting organs for all of my devious needs. 

 

Now I just need to get more messed up MUSCLE as I cannot bring myself to carve up nice ones.
