I am not sure if you are on the different socials, but Tim Clarke himself is active on both Instagram and Facebook. It might be easier/faster to get info from the source!

Tim is basically making anything that fans will buy, someone suggested a st. patrick's day boglin and a couple weeks later it happened, so you can be sure the boglin king will be in the pipeline

Depends how it's stored, I have boglins that you'd think just came off the shelf in 1987

There's now two threads about this, maybe a mod can merge.
Tim has now posted a photo of the finished king on his Instagram. Sadly he's also commented that it will be made using the same rubber he's been using for all of his new stuff, which is a very soft rubber. As a die hard mini boglin fan it puts me off to think that it will be nothing like the rest of my collection.
Totally agree. He might be using the stuff he made his last "mini boglins" out of. The two I picked up have hardened over time so are actually a little more like the originals...
I just wish we could convince him to team up with someone like Eric Nilla...
I just suggested that to him on his instagram,
Perhaps if a few more of us suggest it directly to him he'll consider it. Why not? He'd get my money for sure!

Totally agree.
The soft rubber was surely selected so it can be used for a puppet and move/make expressions.
This mini Boglin King would be the absolute bollocks if it were made in hard rubber like the OG's were.
Kinda disappointed in the outcome. Would be up for messaging with people to see if it's something he could do in the future?

I'm going to be a little controversial here and say that Tim's recent activity with the boglins lines has felt like a profiteering exercise with little regard for making the products the best they can be and pleasing us fans. Now, clearly he runs a business and is entitled to make money, but he needed to do better imo. The first batch of new mini boglins seemed to take a step backwards in terms of design, craftsmanship and material. He then released a series of overpriced remixes of these new ones that were equally low quality. I bought a Bog-o-bones/Blobkin mini that was basically a white plastic boglin coloured with shoddily drawn lines in black permanent marker. The box was clearly a print-at-home job that was put together with a glue gun.
Now with the Boglins King, perhaps the most anticipated release in this line, it feels like he could be cutting another corner. He's been churning out the soft rubber boglins as quickly as he can pop them out of their moulds. Maybe he's found a material that has sold well so he's using it again. Maybe he's got a load left over. Maybe he just doesn't care what they're made of.
But we do care and that has to count for something. This could be absolutely amazing if it's done right, rather than one of the biggest missed opportunities in the history of collectible toys (over exaggerated, but still).
There's an abundance of skilled toy designers and makers that he could work with to create something memorable.
Let's hope he opts to make this about doing right by the fans rather than cutting costs and maximising revenue.
Rant over.

I messaged him directly on Instagram. Judging by his comments on his original post he is open to exploring other materials. I agree that as many of us as possible should contact him.

I agree, the quality is very different. And when I picked up his new mini boglins I admit I was disappointed. BUT just to be clear, Tim is making these himself, hand casting using home made molds. It's unfair to compare them to mass produced toys. I view them more as little art pieces. They are not mini boglins.
As with all art it's subjective, and thus it's completely open to scrutiny.
The artistry on show for his minis is just not good enough for me, so I do not desire them or buy them. I'm sure other people like them a lot though, it's all good.
His puppets, which are his real background form the muppet days are much better, I have one and it's good quality!
I agree it's a real shame he's not making them like the old mini boglins, but it's totally his perogative
I should also make it clear that whatever material he makes this king boglin out of I 100% will be getting my hand on it haha

time to move on from any hope of a proper mini boglins return imo. they are still pretty cool, but like Toytoad said, they are their own thing
the only way us mini boglin guys are gonna be truly happy, is if he gets them factory produced, which I really don't see ever happening
still happy for him and still a huge fan, he is a super nice guy and the hand puppets look awesome

Anyone get one in London? If so, what's it like?
I got one. It's really high quality and the rubber is really soft. Tim said it would break apart removing it from the mold if he made it any harder.
I was the lucky guy who won his brand new Boglin, Swogg in the raffle. Proper elated!

I picked up a purple king, I like it! Would be cool if someone could recast it in something a little harder sometime...
But I like it

Unless Tim casts it in a harder material, it won't happen. Being a custom handmade figure already, you don't recast someone elses without permission at least and I don't see that happening.
