17% funded in less than 24 hours? That's pretty sweet, Jon! I hope the momentum continues for you.

Wow, this is doing great right out of the gate! Congrats Johnny! Hopefully it keeps up. I am so excited to see this Series go into production. I will be backing this project, I just have to wait until after next paycheck. Gotta get one of those Insecticon color scheme Ants!

I am not even going to lie, I seriously wish I had some muns to drop on that. Or the "retailer" pack to get hand-picked colours.

I absolutely love this line of toys and this entire project is just phenomenal - I know I speak for many when I say those words!

I'm definitely going to pledge, but I'm still deciding which reward I want to go for. In the meantime Jon, I was just wondering if you could clarify a few things for me? (And by the way, massive apologies if I'm being stupid and that you've actually given this information somewhere else!)

1. With the add-ons, when we make the pledge then add the value of any extra bits we want, do we have to state which add-ons we want at this stage, or is that something you will confirm with us down the line if (WHEN!) the project gets the full backing?

2. With the 'I'm a beast' reward where you can design your own fig - I know you've said that all rights, materials, etc. will belong to the pledger, buts is the intention that these newly designed beasts will still form part of the main ROTB line (i.e.are you hoping to have these available on thr LRG store just like any other ROTB character?)

3. Out of curiosity, is the ant without a name at present?

So apologies if I've missed this info elsewhere but any answers to these would be appreciated!

Hi!

Thanks for the support!

I hope this answers your questions:

1. Yes, after the end of the Kickstarter, assuming it funds, I'll send out a survey request and that is where you will be able to specify which add-ons you chose.

2. It's basically a way for someone to have their own creation go from concept to the pre-production prototyping stage. If they want, we will also submit to the factory for pricing specs for them, in case they want to go that route.
The character, etc will belong to the creator 100%. If that person wants to submit it for actual inclusion in the line, then we work out the details in regards to licensing their creation from them. In essence, if both parties agree that this character should be in the line, then we figure out if we can come to a mutually agreeable price for us to license it from them.
It's also possible that they will want to go their own way with it and release them independent of RotB.

3. Yep. We haven't given him a name yet. We have a lot of cool fan-submissions, so at this point we are considering putting it up for a vote. We'll know in a week or so.

I got an email notification about this...it SNAPPED me right outta my self-imposed/holiday hiatus.   :p

I'm gonna try to go the standard route and click on my preferred backing option, but just in case I end up flummoxed, I'll just send you the $$$ directly, eh?   ('Store Envy', kickstarter, etc. can sometimes bust my balls with their "sigh up for an account!" and similar bullshit, but green is green either way at the end of the day.)

These look really great, man.  As I said last year:  You've brought 90% of what I wanted out of a proper BB revival to fruition.

The only issue with that is that this being a Kickstarter, every pledge counts.

If people pledge $16,499, the Kickstarter fails and Jon doesn't get any of the money. Unless you're a big roller, (retailer or something), you're one pledge is unlikely to affect the campaign too severely, but more pledges never hurt either! (And there's that crowd mentality thing of, "my vote doesn't count." It does!)

I'm in! These guys look awesome!

Wish I had enough to pledge at the "I am a BEAST!" level and work on the cuttlefish design! :p

That being said, we can pledge more than once, right? I might want to go for another package as well...

edit: I figured it out. I can change my pledge to a higher tier.

Jkaris is a busy man, so I'll make a half-assed announcement on his behalf:

The Rise of the Beasts campaign has a new stretch goal!

For every person who pledges $50, if the campaign makes it to (I think), $21,500, you will be eligible to receive one of two free figures!

Either the Rhino painted like Beast Wars Rhinox, or the Scorpion painted like G1 Transformers Scorponok.

So if you haven't yet, get your pledges in. If you have got them in, up them for a chance at a free figure!

And if you have friends, (and I do mean if ;)), tell them to pledge too! We all want this campaign to succeed, right!?

Thanks Draznar!

Here is the latest update from the Kickstarter:

----

Hi everyone!

First off, THANK YOU to everyone who has pledged and who has helped spread the word so far!

We are about halfway through the campaign and at about 40% of our goal. Please continue to reach out to your friends and fellow toy collectors and tell them about this line. By my estimate, we need another 160-170 folks to join in and pledge to hit our goal. That number is definitely reachable!

That being said, I want to put up our first minor stretch goal.

If this campaign breaks the $21,000 mark, then anyone who has pledged at the $50 level or higher (not counting shipping costs) will receive one of these two figures as a freebie, included in their package.

4a549d9338a26d1efd9694534dd5cc16_origina
The above figures are paint masters (hand painted by the magnificent Eric Koppen (@eric_koppen), so the figures that come from the factory will likely be slightly different, but not by much.

But, we first have to get to $16,500 before we can charge towards $21,000. So please, tell a friend, or three! :)

Thanks everyone!!!

Johnny

Is the Shark a "final design?"

Pretty much. We may do a few minor tweaks and stuff, but he is pretty much the final product.
Once he is sliced, I send him to Paul at the factory and he will tell us what to change to make it work in the mold. Undercuts and what not.
What are your thoughts?

The 3d guy is working on a hammerhead alternate head for him right now, and the weapon.
