In December I bought a high priced battle beast from a seller on eBay who had been a member here for a few months and had seemed to be invested in our community.
They seemed to be a trustworthy member and after looking at their negative feedback on eBay, they still seemed to be a reasonable person. We all make mistakes but I should've seen the flags as bright red as they look to me now.
I feel like an idiot for letting them message me with promises until so much time had passed that eBay does not care what happened.
They continued to message me until April 18th a total of 5 messages they sent back after 8 messages total I sent them.
They were typical excuses that started with "I got the package back in the mail with incorrect postage so I'll send some extras to make up for the wait" which kept me happy. Then the excuses were "I got your address wrong and package was returned again".
After sending my address twice and reminding them that I live in the USA and more promises it was on its way with extras, they finally stopped replying. I even messaged them on LRG to see if they hadn't checked eBay in a while and forgot. I was very polite and patient and I have all or most of the messages saved or screenshot for proof if anyone is interested.
The only reason I haven't taken any action against them since Apr 18 is because I was stupidly hoping to receive the item after these unfortunate circumstances.
I see now that I am a damn fool and my only defense is that I really wanted the battle beast instead of any kind of refund.
I really value your opinion even if you say I "screwed up, simple as that".
What should I do?
