Whether you love him or hate him, the practice of pitting two known fighters who may not be title contenders against each other, to draw in older fans who have fallen out with the sport, is a pretty wise move. I kind of want to watch this fight, just for the spectacle, and I will always have the kind of respect for Shamrock that folks have for grumpy Eastwood characters.

I would like to see Shamrock win.  I have always been a Shamrock fan.

I wouldn't want to be punched square in the face by Kimbo, though...

Kimbo wins due to stoppage by KO in 1st or 2nd Round. Kimbo destroyed Tank, it will be much the same result.

Kimbo is a monster.  Just looking at him- he wins.  haha

Shamrock needs to stay inside and it will be hard to lock up those big limbs...

Tank Abbott has always been a sloppy piece of shit... Entertaining at times, but a sloppy piece of shit nonetheless.

Shamrock has a much better understanding of fighting tactics than Abbott, even at his advanced age.

Eh, Kimbo understands more than ol' Tank does, but that's not saying much. Tank Abbott is basically a vacuum where intelligence and athleticism go to die.

Shamrock should win pretty easy. Kimbo MMA fights were against no one for the most part and his opponents were often told prior to the fights not to take him down if they ever wanted to be on future cards. Shamrock will take him down probably easily and do what he has done for decades. If it was a stand up fight then it would be different but it's not.

On one hand, I'd like to watch this fight. On the other hand, I don't want to see Ken Shamrock get his face smashed in.

His face already kind of looks smashed in....or smashed up, anyway....

I see, no country for old men- when I look at that pic up top.

This match was never slated to be bareknuckled. You're thinking of something else Shamrock was trying to get off of the ground.

But then he'd have to get rid of that shitty excuse he calls facial hair on his face.

The only thing worse than chinstraps is either a soul patch or that monstrosity he's got on there.

I don't see Shammy getting his face smashed in. Punched, yes, but I see him being able to get Kimbo to the ground pretty easily in a scramble.

I think Shamrock will take him down, and Slice won't be able to compete with him on the ground.

Kimbo is just damn scary, maybe it's the bearded homeless villain look.  I've watched tons of Kimbos fights.  He is a more brutal Mike Tyson in my opinion.  Not a fighter, but a brawler.  Shamrock is, as we all know, a highly skilled technical fighter.  The mix of pitting the two, whether it be for money or whatever the reasoning, is great....That's what proving being a better warrior is, in my eye.

Exciting fight, Complete disappointment, Jaw dropper?  I choose the Jaw dropper.  I really think Kimbo is going to land an early blow, resulting in Shamrock getting knocked out. Complete disappointment would be if Ken take Kim to the ground and breaks his shit quickly.  Exciting of course, would be them beating the shit out of each other in an even keeled fashion....

I would like to see Ken Shamrock win, but I don't think he will.....

The only chance Shamrock has is by submission.

I see Kimbo chopping him down.

First off, comparing Kimbo and Tyson is a hilarious false-equivalency. As an amateur, Tyson won two Junior Olympics boxing gold medals (winning every fight via KO). Tyson was more than just a brawler, at least for the majority of his career. That is part of why it was so sad to see him fall from grace so hard... But, I digress. Tyson was a technically gifted fighter, and though not a well-rounded pugilist, his technique was dominating.

Kimbo got famous by beating up wannabe tough guys in back yards, and got handled by pretty much everybody not named Houston Alexander. He got jobbed to Seth Petruzelli, the last time he and Shammy were supposed to fight (Shamrock couldn't get medically cleared because of a cut he sustained over the eye, during training).

If Shamrock is smart, he will make Kimbo chase him, and annoy him with some light jabs and focus on footwork. Make Kimbo over extend, over commit, to a combination, shoot, and then it's over. If I was coaching Shamrock, I would suggest shooting, clearing the hips to take sidemount; go for a Kimura or Americana, and as soon as Slice turns his hips to relieve the pressure/escape, isolate one of his legs, and go to an achilles lock with a heel hook being the consolation prize, if Kimbo tries to turn out of the achilles lock.

But, that's just my opinion.
