Ok so i called walmart today to see if they had any in because i didn't want to make a trip up there for no reason and the toy department guy told me that they were cancelled and they will no longer be getting the toys. Does anyone know if there is truth to this.

Hmmm thats news to me. But I did find it odd yesterday that the figures were marked down some...$4 for a 5pack, and $2 for a 2pack. I hope i didnt kill another line already (MotU, Simpsons, Ultimate Muscle)...

maybe its not cancelled, but Wal-Mart is jus gonna stop carrying the figures. I think target did that before with the simpsons figures after awhile, so maybe wal-mart is taking after them...

....or maybe this is a desperate attempt to want to belive that the line isnt gonna be cancelled.

Sweet! Time for me to start buying up some FFoP!

Sniper could be right, this might mean that only Walmart has decided to stop carrying the line. I seem to remember that Walmart did the same thing for Star Wars a few years ago. And remember, Target stopped carrying wrestling toys for a while.

Regardless, if Walmart stops carrying a toy line, especially one that's geared towards kids, it's not a good sign.

But if the line is cancelled, I can't say that I'm surprised. FFoP was great, but it was kind of overpriced, and it didn't have any sort of tie-in, whether it be a movie, a cartoon, or something else. It just seemed to drop under the radar of most kids.

I really hope this isn't the case. It seems to go that way sometimes when I get excited about something, it gets cancelled. Personally I don't think that may be the case. We'll just have to wait and see.

My wal-mart just started carrying them, and hasn't put them on any kind of sale yet.

Please don't panic...

The line is FAR from canceled...trust me...

Walmart is notorious for not knowing a damn thang!

Walmart Toy managers will tell you only what they know and that is...when a series of toys is changing...stores usually clearance out the old to make way for the new. Walmart, Target and even TRU have sold a BUTT-LOAD of these and they will carry them again when series 2 or even wave 2 hits their warehouse.

It could also have to do with the guy who merchandised for WalMarts putting FFOP in the oddball junk party favors area of the toy section where no one goes. They would have sold better there if they had been merchandised with action figures. It was 5 or more trips to WalMart before I heard they were selling them and then had to search for them and find them buried in obscurity.

I haven't heard anythiong from Spinmasters regarding the death of FFOP, so I would attribute it to WalMart not selling very many because they hid them in the midst of non-related junk.

I second that semi-coherent tirade! ;) , but seriously, I've called my local wal*fart looking for toys that I KNOW for a fact they have, and they treat me like I'm the one with the problem!

1specific incident involved the video game tool telling me "I'm sorry, but GTA games only come out for ps2, you'll never get 'em on Xbox, guess you bought the wrong system!" - and that is why I try to avoid talking to the walmart dancing dumbass division. ;)

I hope for your guy's sake it is not cancelled. I honestly have not picked up any packs (Like I could) but the line just did not appeal to me that much anyways. I am surprised a company would try to do a little fighter thing like that after Ulimate Muscle (a similar toy) got cancelled. I like the concept and design of many of the characters, but I do not like the poses. One thing that Muscle and Kinnikuman did very well was pose their figures, you can actually fight with them. Although cool looking, it looks hard to have actualy battles with the FOP figs. Thats why I hates the Ultimate muscle figs too, they looked wierd and the poses were lame with exception to a few. There's my two cents.

I was at Toys R Us a few days ago; I finally noticed where they had the figures, and they were all at the regular price.

I was there yesterday and they actually had put more out (at regular price), than they have in the past.

Wal-Mart employees do not know what they're talking about or care 99% of the time. Speaking as a former WM employee, trust me, I know. Unless you actually have someone dedicated to the section they work in (such as how I desperately tried getting into Toys, only to end up next-door in Sporting Goods) or a fellow collector, you're not going to get any sort of help in those regards.

Also, I noticed that even now, my Wal-Mart hasn't carried FOP at all. I suspect that for such an unimportant novelty toy, in these dark days of ROTS figures, the toy section has far bigger priorities and that many could stop carrying them or never start, like mine. That is not clearly indicative of the line's popularity and certainly doesn't mean it's cancelled just yet.

I was at a Target last Wedsnday, and they had the 2 packs on clearance for 1.50

However, the larger packs and accessory sets were still their respective original prices.

And it was only at ONE target (oddly enough, the very same one I got most of my UM CCG cards and figures for 75 cents each). I went to another yesterday, and they were full price, and they also had the Robots movie toys for full price as well (the store which had Fistfuls on sale also had the Robots figures on clearance)

It's kinda a shame. When you can get these things dirt cheap, it's great for collectors, bad for buisness. I got a two pack that Wedsnday, and they were pretty cool. I think I'll buy more of them, when the price gets lower.

TRU does something similar: they put the FFoP figures with the games instead of the action figures, which seems like a dumb placement to me.

I also saw that FFoP is on clearance in the Super Walmart in Richmond. It seems with most of the chains clearing them out that FFoP is pretty much done, at least in the US. But doesn't FFoP originate in Australia? If so, maybe you guys can get future waves from overseas via Ebay.

I don't know exactly how this stuff works, but is it possible they're clearing out wave 1 to make room for wave 2?
