Is $6 each for these cheap? Sounds kind of high to me.

I think we had a discussion about this when Steverotters posted a similar ebay auction. IIRC, a few people chimed in saying this was on the higher end, but not wholly unreasonable.

If you want some, I'll trade them to you or sell them to you on the cheap. There are only 5-6 of them that are really rare, and a few uncommons.

Which ones are rare? And, who's definition of "rare" are we talking here?

Grim Watcher, Phantom, and the Prototype Haniver and Prototype Griffin are rare as in they show up for sale every couple of years. Ghost is on the border between rare and uncommon. Poltergeist, Mummy and Vampiress are uncommon and show up every few months. I believe the rest are common.

Those are my observations from watching eBay. There is another rumored prototype that appeared in the promotional ad, but he hasn't been discovered outside of that.

I'm not one to be averse to painted minifigures, all for it much of the time, but there's something about the paint washes done on these 2006 figures that always put me off. Not quite early-Mage Knight bad, but enough that I could avoid the temptation of them without much trouble. Maybe one day I'll change that.

More off-topic, whatever happened to that much more recent MIMP attempt? The one with the very Western-anime style to it, when those prototypes were popping up?

I believe it was also supposed to have a toys-to-life bit to it too!
