The first person to help out me and TheOrgg and tell us what it says gets 2000 internets.

Theorgg, get a freaking new computer or update your software, dude. As soon as I clicked on the link, it was translated to English for me. Posted Image

In keeping with the Japanese tradition of giving edible gifts, I decided to throw in a food themed Yudetamago sundry from the States.

Posted Image

I thought it would be fun to play on the whole egg thing in Yudetamago - Apparently the sign on their studio door says in English, "Studio Egg." The best I could think of this late in the game...... :D

And another funny thing to note is he mentioned today that part of the MUSCLE Summit on UStream will be silent or blacked out for audiences due to distribution rights with the music and certain video segments. If anyone is watching from home in the middle of the night, don't be surprised if portions of the event seem wonky - in other words, don't adjust that dial.

Spoke with him again last night that hopefully the package will arrive before the MUSCLE Summit. Fun Stuff!

We will get this there before the MUSCLE Summit for sure!

Yudesensei has been perusing the University of MUSCLE, and said that he really wanted one of those “Mattel MUSCLE Logo” shirts. He also wants one of those Mishka NYC MUSCLE Kinkeshi hoodies. He said that he was totally blown away by the nostalgia of MUSCLE in North America, and surprised that there is actually fashion created around MUSCLE. :o

I am throwing in one of the MUSCLE T’s for him (but I know it is going to be too big for him :notme: ), and also was able to find him one of those hoodies on eBay.

I told him that most people alive in the 80’s recognize “those little pink guys” even if they are not familiar with the name or origin etc.

He indicated that even if people who like or remember MUSCLE are not aware of Kinnikuman (the backstory), that it is very rewarding to see that the characters have such staying power. The fact that they are not completly forgotten, is exciting.

I am also curious about the white SC, is that a TGB?

I threw in a few Sunshines amidst the M.U.S.C.L.E.s I contributed, as he is one of my favorite overall Kinnikuman characters.
This brings up a possible question you may wish to pose, if someone has not done so already: Which Kin character is Shimada-sensei's favorite(s)?

Wow, praise from Ceasar!!

I must add, however, that my version of Don't Take Your Guns to Town is based on the Johnny Cash tune. I just re-wrote some of the lyrics to make it about Terryman and Terry the Kid.
And I am not too crazy about some of the timing errors I made in that piece. I tried a somewhat different approach: filming and editing the video first, then performing the song as I watched the rough edit and recording it in real time. This is why the tempo seems to fluctuate at times, as I was attempting to match my playing and singing with the action.
In this way, I was attempting to capture some of the feel of a recording session of the same era in which Cash recorded his fine version. The slight imperfections remain intact from the single take from which the audio was cut, which gives it a bit more authenticity.
It is just in re-watching it now that I wish I had performed the song a bit...better, I guess, haha!

Not nearly my best work, but a fun essay in the craft, nonetheless!

I remember my Grandpa playing that song on the old family record player when I was a kid, so I was really pleased with your version.

The translation of what I posted is, "Terryman and Terry the Kid in starring roles!? An American Kinnikuman, fan-made, original music-video." He responded "面白い!" which is like saying "wow that is interesting, or wow that is amusing."

オリジナル ミュージック ビデオ or "Original Music video," not "original music" as it looks like Google Translator is spitting out :)

Our glorious Milky Way is a tiny, infinitesimal speck of sand in this vast, incomprehensible universe. And somewhere in that Milky Way is our own solar system, less than one billionth of that speck of sand that is the Milky Way. And then there is our planet Earth, one hundred trillionth of that one billionth of that one speck of sand. And on this planet Earth there is DEV-0, an insignificant blemish with a lifespan too short to measure when placed in infinite time.

And you are here, with them, as so many specks of sand.

A few updates on our little project here. I sent the tracking number to Shimada-sensei, and he basically said "I really thank you all so much for sending me something that I could not possible get in Japan. Have been looking forwarding to getting this."

According to the tracking information, the package should be arriving in Tokyo on Wednesday evening. Depending on how fast it clears customs, he could have the package by the 28th or 29th. I will keep everyone posted on the progress.
