So yesterday when I posted a movie trailer for Babadook it got me thinking... maybe I should just start a thread for movie trailers!  The LRG JUKEBOX thread seems pretty popular.  SO this will be similar. I don't know about you guys, but I LOVE movie trailers.  I'll watch them for films that in reality I probably will never get around to seeing and other times they introduce me to films that I didn't know about.

Maybe it's a trailer to one of your favorite films, maybe it's a trailer to a terrible film (and ends up being unintentionally hilarious), maybe it's an up and coming movie that you just can't wait to see... hell, it could be a fan made trailer too!  Whatever the movie or genre... post them here!

This should be fun.  : )

I'll start it off:

Rather than looking ahead, I'm going to look back at two of my favorite horror films.  Actually the first Evil Dead was the first horror film I remember ever watching... it really had an impact.  Both are classics.  Enjoy!

And here's the second one:

Use the jukebox!!

While I'm not big into a lot of thrash metal I LOVE how eclectic the jukebox has become... So folks have metal or talking heads or violent femmes or whatever. I'd hate to lose that mix of stuff, just because it starts breaking Into smaller threads. But that's just my opinion, if you feel strongly about it go for it.

Here's a Spinoff article, with an interesting trailer for a movie called "Crumbs".

I'm intrigued.

Oh wow - that DOES look cool. I'll keep this one on my radar. I'll watch just about ANYthing that is described as "Lynchian" lol... Watching the trailer just reminds me how impatient I am for the new Twin Peaks series to come out. 1 more year. Sigh.

Not really a trailer, but this guy made a gritty, violent short based on the Power Rangers. Starring James Van Der Beek ;)

Protip: the button in the very top-left of the editor toolbar lets you enter raw edit mode, where you can change the individual tags for things like quotes without having to fight with thw WYSIWIG editor interface. Kind of like html but the tags are all defined like [this] [/this] rather than <this> </this>

Very helpful in avoiding this type of post formatting issue.

DAMN!!!

I didn't finish the Power Rangers movie... but wanted to, but just didn't have the time.  Now there has been such a FUSS about it, that they have pulled it from YouTube!

CRAP!

Thanks for sharing Bach - I liked what I saw.

Just watched this movie Earth to Echo. It is like a modern day ET -- I bet kids today will like it better, if they were to watch both.

Ha ha... CLASSIC!  I like the early Peter Jackson stuff.  I feel like he relies a little too much on CGI now days.  Although I feel like the first LOTR trilogy was the perfect blend of BOTH practical effects AND CGI.

yeah he overdid the CG for The Hobbit for sure, seems to be the trend now. Just sucks because it's been 6 years since Avatar was released but because most studios don't want to put the extra production costs into premium quality rendering (like Cameron did), we still get CGI that looks more on-par for 2004 most of the time.

Interestingly, I heard that the new star wars film relies heavily on puppetry and is trying to minimize use of CGI when possible, so that's promising maybe?

That's nice to hear about Star Wars. JJ Abrams seems to be a true Star Wars fan... I'm really getting optimistic about the new movies.

As far as Peter Jackson... Even if you watch something like Lovely Bones all the CGI made me groan. Yeah I know, it was this heavenly magical world and all... But it still really bugged me. Especially when he had such a lovely balance between CGI and practical effects in the first trilogy of LOTR

There is something to be said for good practical effects. CGI has a place, in film, don't get me wrong. Pac Rim was a good example of how that can be pulled off well... But typically, CGI should be used to bridge the gap that is created by the shortcomings of the practical effect.

WAR Jim Henson!!

Well said Ironmask.  "Bridge the gap". I think that's key.

And onto something COMPLETELY different... y'know it occurs to me that I have never actually watched this.  And somehow I'm OK with that.  I think I would rather go back and re-watch the Mario Brothers film lol...

Wow.

Entertainment Weekly apparently rated this movie the "Citizen Kane of bad movies"...

The wikipedia for the page is equally bizarre...
