I was just wondering if anyone collects the original G.I. Joes from Hasbro. The origianls included the sunlight color-changing Zartan, Zandar, and Zarana. Stormshadow and figures like Airtight, Kwik-Kick, and Barbeque were also among the originals. These are just some of the figures that I once had from when G.I. Joes were first released.

but of course!

the original 3 and 3/4 inch Joes were amazing. they were the constant birthday and christmas gift. one christmas in particular, my brother and i got the big tan mobile Joe base. my dad (Santa) had unpacked it and set it all up with the guns and some figures etc. he had nearly as much fun as us.

but all of those original figures are packed away in the attic. they are really fun toys. i remember we lost zartan's armor, so we used a permanent marker to color his chest black.

i could go on and on with the Joe memories.......

Ia lways enjoyed the Cobra Eel figure, and I've been thinking of getting my hands ona GOlobulus one of these days.

hey, remember the Mega Mutants? I had a Bio-Viper- those were great. Does anyone know what the Monstro-viper's "Gut ball" special power was supposed to be?

I sold an original sun color-changing Zartan MIB on ebay recently for around $200. If you ever come across a cheap one of these, scoop it up. For some reason people like to fork out a seriously large amount of money for them.

Also the original Storm Shadow figures on a MINT card go for about the same! ^_^

although i never had very many i had a friend who would come to school with all these GI joes (or action force as they were known over here) and he would take apart the ones with screw joint limbs and build brand new figures out of them, i seem to remember thinking they were pretty cool but i never took much notice of course because in those days i was strictly a muscle man

The gut ball in reality was some play doh called Joe Dough that came with the Mega Monsters - you could put it in his chest cavity and mold a "gut bomb". In storyline terms, Dr. Mindbender made him with the power to generate weapons internally just in case he needed some weapons during a mission. Dr. Mindbender = genius.

I have nearly every figure from the original 3 3/4 American release Joe line, excluding some of the Street Fighter repaints. Do not have all the weapons but we never played with them in that manner anyway. Have one of every vehicle style except the Silver Mirage cycle because it falls apart if you sneeze on it. The entire right side of the collection photo on my RBT site is bins full of Gi Joe stuff. The vehicles are in many different conditions - too many parts on some, others I really don't care about. The new stuff keeps me busy enough. The only vehicle part I would really want is the fantail deck railing for the Flagg aircraft carrier - its the only part I still need. No room to set it up though, so it can wait.

Has anyone ever seen a Street Fighter the MOVIE Ryu MOC? Let me know.

But he could sure come up with some unique ways to try and "kill" the Joes. Sometimes I think he was secretly on the Joe payroll with the stuff he came up with.

Ah, thanks!

I still preferred the Bio-VIper, though, in looks.

As a kid, I played with G.I. Joes and M.U.S.C.L.E. in alternating phases. One month I would feel like playing with M.U.S.C.L.E. and another I would feel like playing with G.I. Joes. I always ended up playing with M.U.S.C.L.E. more though. I guess I liked them more. Yup, they are my favorite toy!

Doctor Kent,
that storage area looks like a wet dream!
too bad you don't have room to set it all up. it makes me think that it would be a dam good idea to start a 1980's Toy Museum. it could contain everything from Madballs to Visionaries to Joes. I have very vague memories of an advertising toys museum somewhere in downtown Porttland, OR. but i went there for a class and the hot teacher was distracting me............ ^_^

Don't think that the wife hasn't suggested this...I'd like to do it. Charge a couple bucks, finally pay off the credit card bills that built the collection. When we finally get a house in 2008 (sigh), one of the prime requirements is going to be the space to set this stuff up. At one time I had near complete collections of He-Man, Transformers, Marvel Super Heroes from Toy Biz, Super Powers...I tend to sell a collection off when the only figures/vehicles left are going to cost me over $70 a piece to finish the series.

although did they make any vechicle for the street fighter range?

Street Fighter II had the following vehicles:
Beast Blaster (repaint of Thunder Machine)
Sonic Boom Tank (Paralyzer)
Red 4WD buggy (Badger)
Dragon Fortress (remolding of the Toxo Lab)

Street Fighter the Movie was:
Devastator (Snow Cat in purple, still need myself)
Street Striker (Vamp with missiles)
Attack Chopper ?(Dragonfly)
Shadowloo Fortress (the Joe 91 HQ in purple)

Not sure if the movie or II line, seen proto pics maybe?
Karate Chopper (Dreadnok Cycle, not sure if this came out in America)

If there were any others, escapes my memory ay this point.

yike! so many more vechicles, i think ill have to keep to just the figures of these ranges. storage is so hugh. im goin start using the upper attic loft next to keep all the boxes and cards. i dont know how everyone keeps all their carded figures though. i eventually sold lots of my carded collection just to make room for the loose ones. (and the cash came in handy!). but then i find a heman beam blaster and darn it - more space. i m trying to clear some space to set the eternia up but its massive.

were the movie figures the same as street fighter 2? different colours? weapons?
