I have since switched mediums from Aves to Sculpey firm. Also practicing a lot more cause sculpey is workable till baking. So it's like sketching in my sketchbook haha.
I felt I am far enough along that I can share this. Most of this has been done at work haha.
Initial sketch for myself and how I felt I could get the curled shoes and sword on the figure.

If you can find it, the new Sculpey Medium is also really nice.
Little dude is coming along great!

Ha! That sounds like they producing what PlasticSoul does, mix pink and firm half and half. I like firm, but I do mix in a little bit of pink, not half and half though.

Pretty much! There are so many that do that kind of 50/50 mix they pretty much figured they're missing out on another money grab. I'll just keep buying them separate and mixing though, a lot cheaper.
I usually do the 50/50 mix since I tend to have things fall. The animals like to 'help'.

Right now I keep a chunk of pink, few different chunks of different mixes and some pure firm. Pink for covering foil/armature, mixes for normal sculpting and such, then pure firm for things I want to sculpt sharp edges or sharp details cut into. Going to be working in CX5 more and see if I like that. Will also be backing the kickstarter for CX5 3D printer filament cause that looks crazy.

Been considering the CX5 for a while, but also have a small tub of Monster Clay that I haven't broken into yet. Also thought about trying out BeesPutty to see how it compares to Sculpey. More than anything I need to get a pressure pot, been playing around with some 3D software but don't think I'll be doing anything serious with that for a while.
Is the CX5 KS a new launch? Haven't followed any of their newer products for a while, out of the loop!

Yeah I never find time to play around with digital sculpting much.
There is CX5s now which is softer than the original. The CX5s package even shows mix ratios with original for finding a firmness you like. It's cool to see I wasn't the only one that felt the original formula was a bit too stiff and brittle at times. Before the soft version I had mixed crayons to soften it up haha.
I found out about the filament through Instagram. https://www.instagra.../p/BGcvBS7zJU5/ June is passing by though....

Thanks elrojo!
Yeah Aaron is a beast a drawing so I knew I really needed to improve the quality of my sculpting if i was going to do this character. I feel it is the best thing I have ever sculpted.

I'm trying to nap and eat tacos.
Doing those two things at once seems like a choking hazard.
