I saw the following story today in our little local community newsletter and I admit, it really tugged at my cynical old heart strings:

http://www.reviewjou...craft-creatures

In a nutshell, a local Las Vegas artist teamed up with 5 local kids with cancer. He asked them to help him draw up 5 monsters. He took their drawings and brought them to life by getting them 3D printed into sculpts. He custom painted them all and put them into a diorama.

Their artwork will be on display in the art gallery at the local library by where I live.

They plan to auction off the sculpts to raise money for "Cure 4 the Kids Foundation".

I'm definitely going to go check it out.
