I am probably not the first person to do this, but I always thought the Sunshine Arch would make a delicious snack if it were cast in solid chocolate.

A few weeks ago, my lady got me some Amazing Mold Putty, a two part food-grade silicone product, so I gave it a shot. Here are the results of my first experiment:

Attached File  DSCN5734.JPG   80.86K   10 downloads

Those came out well enough that I tried a few more different sculpts this morning:

Attached File  DSCN6472.JPG   85.55K   10 downloadsAttached File  DSCN6473.JPG   77.35K   9 downloads

Attached File  DSCN6474.JPG   69.11K   12 downloadsAttached File  DSCN6475.JPG   85.91K   16 downloads

I think I need to try a liquid based mold product to get the finer details, and next I intend to try casting with some different foods, such as white chocolate or gummy (gummigomu would be sweet!), or adding a Rice Krispie center to a chocolate #99 or #195... many possibilities exist.

The best part is that however they turn out, good or bad, the end result is always delicious!

That's an AWESOME idea!!  The details look pretty good for the most part - were you thinking some kind of silicon mold?  I remember when I was a kid, my Mom and I would cast chocolates from various molds we would get at the candy/ crafts shop.  I assume similar premise.

Lol - those would be a perfect Secret Santa gift for next year!  A bag of MUSCLE candies!

Ericnilla suggested this stuff: http://www.reynoldsa...h-sil/#purchase

That looks about right as far as having a liquid to pour as opposed to a putty that you roll over the figure with a cure time of about two minutes. I'll definitely have to give that a try.

It would be cool to make a Sunshine ice cube tray, or mold a deka Kinkeshi and freeze some fruit juice in there with a popsicle stick. A Kinkesh'sicle would make a great summer treat!

One of my favorite DEKAS is the Mountain sculpt... that seems like it would be PERFECT for a popsicle treat!

I don't know, I'd wager that you ARE the first person to do this. Ha. I'd like to have The Mari in chocolate form. He'd be like one of those foil-wrapped chocolate balls I ate a million of growing up.

White chocolate with a drop of pink food coloring:

Attached File  DSCN8599.JPG   66.85K   12 downloads

The coloring is getting close to the original Kinkeshi/M.U.S.C.L.E. tone, though it could be a shade darker. The pink color is misleading without a corresponding flavor. Future experiments should include a dash of raspberry or strawberry for the taste to match the visual aspect.
