Hey plasticfiend, I saw you were playing MK the other day but couldn't actually figure out a way to invite you to a game. I could create my own room but that was it. Am I missing something?

After responded to this post via PM it occurred to me that other might not know how to join a game either.  Sooooo...

 

All you need to do... is when you go into online play you can choose WORLDWIDE, REGIONAL, OR FRIENDS... click on friends and you should see a list of friends.

The friends that are online and playing MK will have a little checkered flag to the right. Select the friend and I think and I think it will give you a choice of joining a game... or inviting them to your own.

The only problem that I have run into is that if your friend is playing in a room that is FULL (12 players) then it will tell you that you can't join.

 

I hope that helps others too!!

 

If you cant join because a game is full... you will just want to keep trying every once in a while.

no worries.  Every system usually has it's own differences... and with the Wii U it seems as though every game is different.  As a habit, I always check my friends list every time I sit down and play some MK 8! : )

Not a big fan of the lack of "arenas", but this mode is definitely far superior.

My piece of shit cousin would hide in a corner with his three balloons, let everyone duke it out. Then he would swoop in at the last minute and destroy everyone and claim he was the king of the goddamn castle. I hated him so much for that.

Legit tactic? Sure. But he was far from a good mario kart battler. 

Not sure when I'll be on. I have 2 children and a wife and we seem to have no shortage of things to do these last few weeks. (Birthday parties, for one). I've added some of you guys though, so we'll play one day.

I also like the idea of a tournament!

Lol hopefully we get to play soon... But I understand family first!

Tactics wise I'm starting to feel pretty confident in the place with all the cows... And the one that is kind of just a straight up race track it's the Mario Something or other. I love the Sherbert one with all the ice, but I'm so so at it. My least favorite for battling is toad one with all the cars. I just feel like you go in a circle all day. But it's really fun if you are racing.

If you have MARIO KART 8 - we would LOVE to play with you!!!  Eventually we want to have enough LRG players tp have a tourny of some sort so speak up if you play... and if you don't?  GO BUY IT!  ; )

Hahaha I cant wait. I loved how the stages were set one. My friend would win one match and I would win the other. It was pretty near impossible to guess who would win.
