Finally snagged a set of these, a lot smaller than I thought. They are a little over 1.5", and have proportions closer to the original cartoon, pretty awesome.

I agree.  Was expecting these to be much bigger as well or at least as tall as a decoy.  They are however, far more detailed.  they do look amazing.

They almost look like plastic as opposed to the keshi rubber, are they particularly soft?

soft level I would say it's a 5.  They are definitely not hard at all they can move there arms and legs around but are pretty sturdy as well.  Kinda like the ones that came with metroplex set but smaller

They are marketed as vintage erasers so that can give you can idea. They are rubbery, not plastic or firm at all.
