Got a completely dried up purple turtle egg, omletto, egg gripper and poacher. the other three are ok, two soft but one hard one with pen all over the base. But stronty's right, its a really dodgy way of getting rid of otherwise bad figures of defective ones unfortunately

I didn't buy any of the lots, but that's the seller yes.

The seller claims it's just random kids' toys he's selling, but actually he's selling Gavin Arner's (12345/nodecorumintheforum) reject shit for him.

Very shady stuff, as it's just big lots of common MIMP with the odd crappy or damaged Bad Eggz Bunch figure to entice buyers, and no warning given as to the condition of the figures.

Unfortunately dielaughing bought most of the lots and has ended up with a load of overpriced crap and a seller who is feigning ignorance.

I don't expect anything else from Gavin Arner after seeing the way he operates, but now it's veering into actively scamming people rather than just screwing them over.

Couldnt have put it better, its obviously gavins stuff - the soft red raw eggster he won the other week on ebay. And there was a terrible brown egg gripper that felt like it was made of cheap plastic it was so dried up - that I saw for sale from a german seller a while back. I remembered it as I thought thats odd its brown. Didn't know the purple ones dry up to brown colour.

Gavin has made it clear he doesnt want soft BEBs and as he buys them for really inflated prices, any softs he gets I guess are rejected and these ones are no exception, except the photos only showed one that looked pretty bad.

Yes I know people can say 'oh its your fault you bought them' but to be honest, two other people bought them too..

The seller is boomsensation, real name Philip Clarkson.

He lives 3 miles away and is friends with Gavin Arner (12345) on Facebook:

I don't have a problem with someone offloading their crap, but getting someone else to sell damaged figures without specifically pointing it out, especially when you know that's what people will be buying the auctions for, is pretty low.

I agree with Strontium here, the BEB figures were clearly photographed to get people like me to buy the lots. The photo of all the figures was out of focus but a closer up one always showed a BEB in with the other figures. With the exception of the last lot which showed a PET aliens commander and those are sought after too. To me that shows they were showing off those figures to the punters, the fact that in a lot of 100+ figures they always had one rare one in each close up seems to me a little dubious. That they knew what to show the potential buyers.

The story of a loft clearance might be genuine, but coupled by the fact the two are friends and one of the figures that came was on ebay a while back. Unfortunately its a pretty old listing so I doubt anyone would be able to access it strikes me as a bit odd too.

But it does looks like its a ploy to offload a bunch of mediocre figures that 12345 doesn't want anymore through a friend and showing them off to try and get sales but not going into detail of their condition. I know asking the seller of the condition could have been asking, but lets face it, a BEB in a buy it now lot doesn't usually last very long on ebay

He's banned. This isn't the first underhanded thing he has done (like stealing a completed auction out from under SD), but this is definitely a diplomatx style scam.

BTW, anyone have that thread handy so I can reference it in his new Dishonest Users section?

That thread when he screwed me on the eBay auction was here:

It's a shame really, I don't like to see anyone banned, but lying by omission about the things you're selling is a step too far.

Did he really think a tiny tiny community of BEB collectors wasn't going to figure it out?

I figured it was that guy based on the other items he was selling, knowing that he hoards those vases as well.

Got pretty big balls to off load to people you know and not disclose issues.
