Someone said to post these over here, people have been looking for an ID on them..

here ya go.. Files are attached

Pretty Cool figures.. I don't think they are worth much, On the facebook mini figure militia page, someone valued em at $5-10.

I paid more than that for them, so my loss. still rad.

I have seen these tons of times, and actually had a few at one point, but this is the first time that I have ever seen the packaging.

I had a few that were colored also.

I would say that your ID is right there on the packaging.

It's nice to finally see packaging for these, they have been popping up for years in Muscle lots.

Haha!
I figured that, since you put the name in the title.
I just don't ever recall anybody posting something in toy ID for others to use as a reference .
Glad you did though!

I would guess that you could probably get a little more than $5-$10 for them, seeing as there are quite a few collectors here who have had these figures over the years, and yet no one has ever seen them packaged.
Hell, you may have the last unopened bag of these for all anyone knows.

I haven't been on LRG in forever, I didn't know where the hell to post em..my bad.

Yes, I assumed the appraisal was low, but its all good...I only dug them out since a friend just found some loose at a flea market, and I knew I had a bag of em, was trying to help Id for him... I didn't know alot of people didn't know what they were.

Regardless, we finally know what to call these effing things. Great find, man. We've been agonizing over these things for over a decade.

Does anybody have any of these for trade/sale? I'd love to get my hands on a few. I'm particularly fond of the guy who looks like he's doing a gorilla press slam.

Thank you for posting them here. I've had the guy in that Hulk-Hogan-hand-to-ear pose for years. I've posted him here for ID at least thrice and my OCD mind has been in a stupour over this. I wish more people would post these kind of pics in here. Your photo is the logical other side of the proverbial IDing coin. Cheers for that.

These guys were originally sold as 3-packs at the dollar stores. Around the early 90's. Later on they sold the bagged versions that had all 12 in them. I had a bunch of these growing up and still do, though I no longer collect them. There was also 4" hard plastic painted versions of them as well. Which looked a lot like the wcw galoob figures. Though I only know of 3 guys they produced that way. Different companies made different variations of them over the years, but the original ones were the skin colored versions. They came with no names and are not modeled after any actual wrestler.

The first pic is one of the 4" versions, the second is an example of the different variations from different companies. The last pic is a random knock off figure, which is strangely attached to the exact same card the 3-packs came on. Only difference they changed the pictures on the back of the card. I guess knock off companies like to reuse artwork from other knock offs. Either way it's more examples to share.

I recently came across another example of these figures bagged, but not of the Ja-Ru variety:

Ja-Ru USA Wrestling Team vs. Playmakers Champion Wrestlers:

Attached File  IMG_20220616_080322166.jpg   112.91K   6 downloads

Both sets were made in Hong Kong, possibly by the same factory. The figures themselves seem to be identical in composition.

I find the lack of a bar code on the Playmakers package noteworthy, inferring that it might pre-date the Ja-Ru package.

Or that Playmakers was just a two-bit operation comparatively, ha!
