Some of you have already seen this on GPKUG but for those who haven't it looks like GPK Minikins Series 2 will drop in early March 2014!!!

http://magazine-exch...sPlan_HOBBY.pdf

Series 2 will include a new Classic Peach color which will replace Neon Yellow that are exclusive to hobby boxes. I'm debating on pre-ordering several boxes, maybe we could even do a LRG case break if there are enough people interested?

Where'd you see the neon orange thing? All I seen was classic peach . . .? And I'd be down for the case break ! Are the hobbie boxes the basic boxes? The come with the 24 packs?

You're right, I read Neon Orange at GPKUG but it is the Classic Peach color.

Stoked! The peach is sweet.
Are they available for pre-order via toywiz... Or is that a typo?

Yeahs toy wiz has them,it's not a typo. It used to say ships in oct,but they changed it, it now says ships in march . The only reason I know .is I mistakenly pre-ordered a box , when I was after series 1 , so I emailed them, and they said, yes they are pre-ordering already .

Edit: anyone know if the basic boxes they sell are the hobbie boxes with the sweet peach inside?

What is a hobby box?

My understanding is that they're boxes sold through card/hobby shops as opposed to retail like Target. That's just from Googling it. Can anyone confirm? Seems a bit strange they'd release the yellow through retail but not peach, though.

I'm really liking the S2 lineup so far. I think this is who we know we'll be getting so far, based on the sales plan, preview photos, etc. (did I miss any?):

- Weird Wendy

- Graffiti Petey

- Meltin' Melissa

- Fishy Phyllis

- Double Heather

- Slobby Robbie

- Karate Kyle

- Adam Boom

- Beasty Boyd

- Cute Tippi

- Yeti Eddie

- Mad Mike

So that's almost half of the Series 2 characters we know already. Can't wait to see who the others will be.

That's my understanding as well. Hobby boxes/packs won't be available via retail stores.

That means we'll have to order hobby boxes or pay a premium on ebay to try and complete a set of the peach colors. Part of me wishes they would continue the yellow color but I'm excited for the possibilities of other colors as well!

I'm wondering if there's anyware to preorder a case of the hobby boxes? We could divvy them up among board members ? . I only have one hobby shop in the area and they don't carry anything GPK. Just tons of magic cards and rc cars. Models ...

Also anyone that ordered a case of series 1, ? How many boxes per case?

I'm thinking someplace like Potomac (and the other online dealers) would have the hobby color in their boxes? Since they're a card dealer. Not sure about that though, just assumed. The people who collect the cards would probably know for sure since I think the card releases also do the hobby exclusive thing.

To those that pre-ordered Series 1, did you feel like you were getting a lot of duplicates for the amount of boxes that you ordered? I want to pre-order Series 2 but I'm hesitant on ordering more than 2-3 boxes if I'm going to get a lot of duplicates.

Any thoughts on your series 2 pre-order strategies?

biffard....you're gonna get dupes, and you're gonna be missing some figures. i bought a ton of minikins, and some figures are just short in the style i ordered. to prevent that, you may want to order some of each package style to try to get evened out odds. that's probably what i'm going to do next time around. i love duplicates though, so it didn't bother me too much, but i can see where 99% of folks would be really really annoyed with alot of the same character

I only ordered 1 box (24 packs) from toywiz just to check them out first before buying too many. I ended up with 21 different painted figures plus a yellow atom bomb. I think out of the whole box I only had 3 painted duplicates and 2 mono duplicates (2 blue russels). I think I got lucky?? not sure if most 24 pack boxes work out like that well. I just finished off my painted set with some 4 packs with the visible figure. I also ordered mine about a week before they came out and got them the following week, toywiz is fast! I will probably judt do the one box again for series 2 and hope I get just as lucky. I was feeling bad about spending too much on these but I see people spending $1000 plus lol. Yikes!

best place i've seen to order minikins series 2 is hands down from myfriendlizzy

http://www.myfriendl...s-series-2.html

she is including 5 awesome custom minikins storage bags for every case order, can't beat that and her prices match the lowest on the net.

2630754_orig.jpg

she also does gpk commissions and stuff. i ordered a painting from her and it was incredible to say the least. so yeah i def recommend her

oh and her hobby orders will have the special peach bag

Apparently series 2 has been pushed back until June. The release date is now listed as June 4th on the GTS Distribution page, and someone from the GPK Underground board confirmed this through a phone call to Topps.

Excellent, hopefully I can save enough coin between now and then to get on board S2.

Potomac still has expected shipping date as June 4th, so I'm assuming so.
